I continue to be amazed by those pundits who suggest Donald Trump cant beat Hillary Clinton.
There are three principal reasons for such faulty conclusions: These folks are working under the strictures of an old paradigm. That is the one that says Democrats start out with a base of unlosable states and electoral votes and need only to win two or more swing states. Polls taken today, before the Trump-Hillary campaign even begins. Trumps high negatives.
Lets look at one big reason none of these factors will come into play after the conventions.

More concerned by Bernie
I’m a Cruz supporter.
If either Trump or Cruz, whoever gets the nomination, cannot beat Hillary Clinton, then things are likely too far gone to even slow down or reverse.
If the GOP-E tries to play games and successfully parachutes in an untested candidate, or one who has already dropped out, all bets are off.
If we have almost all Cruz and Trump delegates at the convention, that will be very difficult to do.
40% of Republicans say that they will never vote for Trump. It will be hard for Trump to win with only crossover Democrats.

So am I. Even if Bernie comes up short this time the Bernie phenomenon isn’t going away.
This country now has a vibrant, robust and growing constituency for Socialism.
Same said about nomination.
Not true.

The Coming Trump Landslide

Never have we seen such infighting and infantile mud slinging all egged on by the Democrats, Elites, Media and the GOPP itself.
IF...Hilliary wins in November, the GOPP will have played a crucial role in driving the country in the Clinton cesspool that it will become.
It is amazing to watch the GOPP follow the Media game plan for destroying their own leading candidate. It is suicide for the party and nation...
Those polls when folks still haven't settled on a candidate are skewed by the desire to make Trump look vulnerable, thus help the candidate they favor. The dynamics of this mess change every day.
Now we've reached a new odd phase. Just before the Cruz disclosures, Romney, Graham, McCain and the rest of the elite, anti-voter slime supported Cruz as a way to stop Trump. Now, they've become less relevant because they've attached to a candidate who at the very least handled, and continues to handle, the situation very badly. The message to other establishment 'pubs might be getting through....back off or there won't be any Republicans in office.
That hopefully means the elitist slime will go into hiding in their guarded enclaves or whatever. Then add in what will be the "mad as *ell" Bernie voters who are a pretty large number in a lot of states that can make a difference.
I really think a scenario such as what I've described..."vote for the outsiders and we dare you not to count our votes" will work against hillary.
the general election polls in march 2012 were pretty accurate. they certainly weren’t 10 points upside down.
I’m more concerned that half the people in the US would consider Bernie and the Beast.
Neither Trump nor Cruz will be the Republican nominee in 2016.
You can bet your bottom dollar on it.
If he can’t win Wisconsin, where he now trails by 5%, Pennsylvania, where he is neck and neck with Kasich, or California, where Cruz is now only 1% behind, he comes in to the convention well short of the number of delegates needed and will not get the nomination.
Absolutely. However, on the Democrat side there is Bernie, the other "outsider" who is making ground on Hillary. Bernie will get a majority of younger voters, but will he get the older Democrat voters in the general election, that is the question.
Right now I'm not sure how Cruz supporters will react if Donald wins the nomination. That is also another factor.
So Donald vs. Hillary is one thing, but we also need to worry about Donald vs. Bernie, and right now that is a crap shoot at best to figure out who would win that matchup.
Hillary smashing Trump is yet another false narrative being advanced by the drive-by media. I’m surprised so many have fallen for it.
Hillary is a horrible candidate, always was, have never won anything other than a carpet-bagged safe seat, and will turn off any undecided voter who is in range of her hectoring and pedantic ranting.
Fine with me. Just stay home.
And if those 40% rigidly persist in denying the likelihood he’ll win the nomination and do not vote for the nominee or stay home, then the prophecy will come true.
That thinking is still no reason to dump him and go for the one who has shown he can’t beat him.
