It’s an attempt to take out two birds with one stone, fabrication in totality.
Every time a candidate “takes on” Trump with their nastiness, I think of the movie First Blood. Basically, a Vietnam Veteran is minding his own business until a small town cop decides to begin harassing him for no reason whatsoever. In the end, the veteran ends up taking on the entire law enforcement community and winning. Gov. Kasich has seen that movie many times.

I don’t think this issue is on the street yet. The thing that worries me is that Cruz is a high powered lawyer and the Enquirer has gone this route anyway. I hear this is the same writer who broke the John Edwards story. I’m very concerned for what this means about our system, if this is true.

I think the real issue is that Trump supporters, top to bottom, have a complete misunderstanding of the law regarding interactions between PACs and candidates.
I don’t know why I find this surprising, as it follows logically from your complete misunderstanding of damn near everything else.
