I don’t think this issue is on the street yet. The thing that worries me is that Cruz is a high powered lawyer and the Enquirer has gone this route anyway. I hear this is the same writer who broke the John Edwards story. I’m very concerned for what this means about our system, if this is true.

They seldom lose the lawsuits. No one could believe it in 1981 when Carol Burnett actually won against them when they said she was drunk.

NE has a really good record on getting this kind of thing right. Indeed, many years ago, it was the first national publication to disclose that Jackie Kennedy was dying of lymphoma. It did it with an unauthorized picture of her shot by a paparazzi. I saw it and she looked to be at death’s door.

After the 180 MILLION dollar judgement against Gawker the enquirer had to be very careful in releasing this...
