Trump surged as the Republican Partys frontrunner on his campaign platform of deporting illegal aliens, promoting trade deals that prioritize the interests of American workers, and rejecting the party elites desire for increased military adventurism.
Ted Cruz, by contrast, wrote an op-ed urging Congress to fast track Obamas Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). No fast-tracked trade agreement has ever been defeated.
Sen. Grahams energetic endorsement of Cruz and Cruzs refusal to disavow the endorsement of a man who many believe betrayed the American people with his unyielding push for mass migration will no doubt raise questions as to whether Cruz still supports his 2013 amendments to radically expand immigration.
Graham, as a backer of the 2013 Rubio-Schumer amnesty plan and the 2007 McCain-Kennedy amnesty plan before that, is perhaps the Republican Partys most outspoken proponent of open borders immigration policies.
Perhaps more than anyone, Sen. Graham has attacked GOP voters, lawmakers, and thinkers for opposing mass migration policies.

Well he, Ted, now has 2 of the 4 GOP members of the gang of 8.
If he could only get McCain and Flake onboard...
Most real conservatives have close friends. Most know-it-all jerks don't.
OK, The roommate I was thinking of was Craig Mazin who has been warning people about Cruz since before his election to the Senate.
I think Trump disavowed David Duke 60 times, but no one apparently heard him.
“Ted Cruz actually counted Chief Justice Reinqueist among his friends.”
...and John Roberts.

Oh woopdee doo, Cruz had dual citizenship with America and Canada.
Considering Cruz was raised by his AMERICAN parents, on AMERICAN soil and has been an AMERICAN citizen since he was 4 years old, the stupidity of using his Canadian citizenship, which he didn’t even know he held until 2013, shows how desperate people are to slander him.
It’s almost laughable that this leftist talking point keeps being brought up. Is that all you have, really?
Try again...
SmokinJoe, I know you love Cruz, but he has very few long term friends. There are people he calls “friends”, but he has managed to alienate just about everyone who he has ever been personally close to.
Christie didn’t threaten to murder Trump on the Senate floor.
“With Rubio out, Ted Cruz will win more of the remaining delegates than Trump.”
Yep, that was proven on Super Duper Tuesday.
Wait....no, it wasn’t. The exact opposite happened.
Trump will NOT get the 1237 delegates needed to win the nomination. That’s the only thing that counts.
The rest is up to the GOP convention.
I support Trump...but I fail to see why Cruz should disavow an endorsement from Graham. Not that I like Graham, mind you, but its not like he’s an ax murderer or anything like that. No, there’s no reason for him to disavow it - that’s absurd.
Let Grahamnesty’s endorsement stay out there and speak for itself.
To quote another endorsement of Cruz’s, which is spot on:
In order to lead, you must challenge the status quo. And when you challenge the status quo, guess what? You do more than ruffle feathers; you make enemies. It is part of it; it is the price of leadership. People say all the time we are all known by the company we keep; Ill tell you what: Ted Cruz should be known, is proud to be known by the enemies he has made in the D.C. cartel.
“There are some people in our party now who are saying, ‘Well, Donald Trump wouldnt be so bad. O.K., maybe hes a liberal, maybe hes a fraud but at least hes a deal-maker, we can make deals with him.’ Heres the thing: The truth is that Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are two sides of the same coin. They arent going to reform the system. They are the system. Hillary Clinton has made millions of dollars selling access and influence from the inside and Donald Trump has made billions of dollars buying people like Hillary Clinton. They are the system. They will not reform it.
“And so when the establishment says, ‘Ted Cruz says is too conservative, hes too much of a fighter; he wont go along,’ I say, ‘You go, Ted.’
As I said Mr. Opportunist...I mean Constitution. ;-)
In other words, Trump supporters are only outraged about Lindsey Graham's endorsement BECAUSE he endorsed Ted Cruz. Had Lindsey Graham endorsed Trump, they'd be fine with it, just like they were when other "establishment RINOs" endorsed Trump (Scott Brown, Chris Christie, Chris Collins, etc.) and not one of them called on Trump to denounce the endorsement.
Trump WILL get more than what is NEEDED, you folks are living in la,la, LAND!!!!
and Christie jumped on the trump endorsement to punish rubio. So, whatever.
bunch of equivocating on this site to make trump look good.
...which is almost guaranteed nominate somebody other than Cruz or Trump. The pledged delegates aren't people who support Cruz (or Trump), they're low-level party functionaries who get assigned to a candidate following a primary/caucus. Afterwards, they are free to vote for whoever they like, and that means an establishment candidate. The net result of Cruz will be the nomination of a Bush, a Romney, or a Ryan. Is this really what you want?
Incidentally, in the most recent national polls, Trump and Cruz are still at where they were (Trump just under 40, Cruz just under 30). What's interesting is that Kasich is now polling close to 20% (meaning the rest of the Rubio/Bush people are either going over to Kasich or make up most of the remaining 10%+ who are undecided).
False.
Rafael, Sr. was a Canadian citizen until 2005.
