WASHINGTON - The unexpected death of Justice Antonin Scalia creates a complicated situation in Washington to determine his replacement on the high court. Republicans are extremely unlikely to confirm anyone that President Barack Obama nominates in the final months of his second term to replace a justice considered a major pillar of modern conservatism - a position that top Republicans, Republican operatives, and presidential candidates already have made clear on Saturday evening.
"The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice. Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new President," Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said in a statement...

We’ll just see how that flies McConnell.

I misread the title and came away thinking McConnell said he thought the process would be completed this year.

Maybe. There’s no way to really know that for sure until after he’s been there a while.
And I’m not even certain that the senate would confirm him now or at any other time.
And I’m quite certain that Obama would not nominate him.
To be perfectly honest, I’m not interested in seeing the court continue.

McConnell and Cornhole will roll over and do anything King 0dingus tells them to, or else the pictures of the little boys will be made public.

In the meantime, either another Justice will die, or retire as well. Ginsboig will take one for the team, since she suffers from pancreatic cancer, forcing a "we GOTTA do something NOW!!!" rush, fast track appointment process. He'll flood the Senate with the most hardcore, gun grabbing radicals you have ever seen, and the first two will be rejected--a "victory" for pieces of shit like mcconnell to trumpet for his moron voters and the fox news crew.
This is if he just doesn't pull the pen and phone( set to vibrate) from his ass and make a recess appointment.
It will start tonight at the debate: "Mr. ____. Upon the sad news this evening regarding the passing of Antonin Scalia, what words would you like to say in his honor, and will you pledge, here tonight in the interest of democratic bipartisanship, that you will not block president 0bama from appointing Supreme Court judges in his remaining time in office..."
By tomorrow, you will see the celebutards on twitter (the same ones celebrating Scalia's death today) calling for #quickjustice! or #JusticeNow or whatever the democrat machine decided on telling their minions to parrot. Constitutional experts, the lot of 'em...
That's what I'm thinking. Obama will probably nominate a black female so he can play both the race card and the war on women card if the Republicans try to block the nomination. Then again, I could be wrong about a black female - Obama could see this as his chance to appoint the first openly gay Supreme Court justice.

Obama will name the nominee by Monday, maybe Tuesday after he is done celebrating Valentines day with his boyfriend in Palm Springs. Locals hate it when he is here. I can see AF1 from my front yard, traffic is a nightmare and it is also “Modernism Week” (architecture).

Andrei Vyshinsky is dead already. Still his record as prosecutor during the purges should make him acceptable to all Democrats. Blackmail should cow the Republicans. Maybe we will have a new justice on Monday.
