iThe Supreme Court of the United States is too important to our democracy...

Hah hah hah hah! The SCOTUS, our LEAST democratic branch with lifetime appointments and no accountability, is too important to our democracy? LOL!

The truth is, these 9 old people in black robes are our defacto supreme leaders (would that it weren't so) and selecting one ought to be a drag out, no holds barred fight every time instead of the staged kabuki dance that it has been.

Agree...NO "sense of the Senate", NO "the President is entitled to make his own appointments to be considered favorably"...

Been there, done that.

Currently, these 8 "old people" are the Supreme Court, but many are older than Scalia was.

Don't have a problem with "wise elders", particularly, but there is NO WAY it would be acceptable to replace Justice Scalia with the likes of another Bader-Ginsberg, Sotomayor, Kagan, or Breyer. Also not the "moderate" Kennedy.

Pretty sure there will be NOT be an Obama appointment getting through before a year from now, when we will have a new President. God willing, we pull together, get our opinions out to the Congress-critters, and the Creek don't rise.
