WASHINGTON - The unexpected death of Justice Antonin Scalia creates a complicated situation in Washington to determine his replacement on the high court. Republicans are extremely unlikely to confirm anyone that President Barack Obama nominates in the final months of his second term to replace a justice considered a major pillar of modern conservatism - a position that top Republicans, Republican operatives, and presidential candidates already have made clear on Saturday evening.
"The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice. Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new President," Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said in a statement...

That means they’ll confirm Obama’s pick on Monday.
I would feel a tad better if if he said SHALL NOT or WILL NOT instead of “Should not,” but Mitch is a bum anyway, so who knows? I guess clues will be gleaned from the Bush/Kasich wing of the debate tonight.

The media will probably come out with a line about racism holding back Obama’s pick. The Republicans will fold like a cheap suit, wet themselves, and approve a black muslim female supreme court justice who’s only 45 years old.

Everyone needs to hold his feet to the fire on this, same for Ryan. Now is not the time for capitulation or even deal making. Keep the seat vacant under any circumstance.

I do not believe anything Mitch has to say so it is up to all republican senators to say “hell no we won’t vote for a nominee under this president!
We need to be sending all senators lots of emails saying how strongly we do not want anyone appointed by Obama to take this great justice’s place. It is going to be a battle mark my words and we have to weigh in NOW.
