Let me be clear - I am pro-life. I support that position with exceptions allowed for rape, incest or the life of the mother being at risk. I did not always hold this position, but I had a significant personal experience that brought the precious gift of life into perspective for me. My story is well documented, so I will not retell it here. However, what I will do with the remaining space is express my feelings about life, and the culture of life, as we just marked the 43rd anniversary of Roe v. Wade.
I build things. There is a process involved in building things.......The rules for putting structures together are as strict as are the rules of physics. These rules have stood the test of time and have become the path to putting together structures that endure and are beautiful. America, when it is at its best, follows a set of rules that have worked since our Founding. One of those rules is that we, as Americans, revere life and have done so since our Founders made it the first, and most important, of our "unalienable" rights.
Over time, our culture of life in this country has started sliding toward a culture of death. Perhaps the most significant piece of evidence to support this assertion is that since Roe v. Wade was decided by the Supreme Count 43 years ago, over 50 million Americans never had the chance to enjoy the opportunities offered by this country. They never had the chance to become doctors, musicians, farmers, teachers, husbands, fathers, sons or daughters. They never had the chance to enrich the culture of this nation or to bring their skills, lives, loves or passions into the fabric of this country. They are missing, and they are missed.

Dude, lighten up with the vitriol and run some spell check occasionally. everyone on his site is frustrated and wants to halt the Obama transformation of this country. We just may have different, well reasoned thoughts on how to get there. I currently plan on voting for Cruz, but I think we need to at least aknowledge the reality of our situation and give credit where it’s due. When Trump does or says something positive, we should embrace and support it. I’ll gladly vote for Trump in the general election if he’s the nominee. He can’t be any worse than the majority of republicans that betrayed us already - you know, the guys that said all the right things and were touting their conservative bonafides regularly until they back stabbed us again last month.
As for perot, I held my nose and voted for bush senior on that one. Thanks for asking and If I were you I wouldn’t assume anything else. You know what they say, when you assume, you make an ass...........
I agree, but making abortion difficult to procure will not create (recreate) a culture of life.
To do that we have to change culture itself.
Ping!
You realize that abortion was already legal in some states prior to 1973 do you.
libbylu, It would help you understand the support for Trump if you stuck with the truth.
I realize you think you are being truthful in all of the things you say about Trump but you are not.
The man is an author over a dozen books. Many are best sellers. You should Read them!
His sister ruled exactly the same way that Sam Alito ruled. The SCOTUS MDe a decision hours before of an identical case they had no choose but to follow their lead. You really need to do research before repeating the meme of the day.
Sis was appointed to bench by Reagan. She had an identicle record to Sam Alito. Whom she spoke in behalf at his senate confirmation hearing. They are still friends
It’s an important paper. Most professionals would seek someone to help polish their thoughts.
But even if, as you appear to assert, Trump had no input, it has his name on it and we all know how important that is to him. It’s something he believes and must stand by.
What law would you make and enforce?
“Did Reagan ever use a speechwriter?”
Wow, Trump actually admits he has flip flopped on an issue! Baby steps for him.
But it will accept this as a true change. I know a few pro abortion types that have changed their position since the revelation of Gosnell and Planned Parenthood selling baby parts
Good post.
The man's ghost-writers, you mean.
Agreed. Even if he did write this himself, it is pretty light. He doesn’t mention anything about being pro-abortion for many years. I am happy that he wants to advance the culture of life. His words just leaving want a little more of what a culture of life means to him.
As it is, I have a consistent pro-life candidate I can trust on this issue, i.e., Ted Cruz.
Thanks for the ping!!
Prove it. If you can’t produce documentation Don’t post it. It is nothing more than liberal lies that you have chosen to repeat
He went to an Ivey league school. Did you ?
Ever heard of Peggy Noonan?
Ever heard of Peggy Noonan?
Did anyone try to stop that vote?
I take that as another reason why Trump should be President. When it matters, not one of them stands up to win for us. At the most, they'll stand up long enough to appease us, but as far as really winning, the DC crowd is useless.
