".... I certainly don't agree with Carson on this but neither do I think it is terribly material to anything. If you are trying to make a case that Carson is an idiot or against science, I think it takes more than a religious conviction to discredit an internationally prominent neurosurgeon with a string of articles published in scholarly medical journals. On the other hand, Hillary Clinton believes in man-induced global warming. Many of the same people criticizing Carson actually believe that gender has nothing to do with chromosomes or endocrinology or physiology. When it comes to GMOs, especially seeds that minimize the need for herbicides and insecticides, the entire left make the Luddites look positively progressive. If you scratch a leftist you find someone screaming "vaccines cause autism." And letâs not even get started on the bizarre belief that heterosexual marriage and the pathetic fraud that is homosexual marriage are even comparable much less equal....."

It’s something that could be empirically simulated on computer, I suppose. Do it right, and like a keystone arch or flying buttress, the inward pressure would keep it from collapsing.
Yes it can be done. And was done. Later, by the Romans and more in the Middle Ages. But not then. Not by pyramid builders.
Also, to follow on to the religiously themed discussion, Joseph might have asked for the storage pyramid to be opened up after its use had come to an end. It wouldn’t even be a pyramid any more.
Again, an experiment in sanctified imagination, and nowhere near dogma, at best directions in which investigation could be launched if it ever proves possible. The White prophecies seem at best dubious, following on to non-Christian Jewish ideas as they often do. But again sometimes nutty ideas end up proving to have a kernel of truth in them. I’ve seen enough strange things in my day that I could say this from experience.
What that might constrain is the shape of the hollow that could be safely made. Go for a straight contour and it might fall apart. A curved contour and the pressure would be equalized.
Again I don’t say this by way of claiming that these pyramid ideas HAD to be right, only by way of trying to honestly investigate whether and how it could have happened, boosted by means of a divine insight.
The bible itself is powerful evidence that at least significant quantities of grain were kept in cities and we know of no city pyramids today. A pyramid theory would have to posit pyramids that are now demolished or disassembled. Something for future SDA or SDA-curious archaeologists to discuss.
I’ve met SDAs and they are not that mean in practice. Religious diatribes from almost any source have a tendency to go off in hyperbolic directions.
You’re pretty snitty today aren’t you. What happened, haven’t got over your Walker bruise?
Pick just about any black person out of the phone book and you would get a better president than Obama, who was groomed and socialized for years to be the progressive figurehead he now is.
One can have a religious/spiritual experience in parallel with carrying out a very normal activity. Nowhere is it asserted that Robison literally “crawled” on the spot. That is to willfully misunderstand. It is a very apt metaphor in a spiritual sense for finding comfort in trouble.
Interesting ideas.
That is not the only source of historical knowledge available. The step pyramid was built by Imhotep, a vizier, generally acknowledged to be Joseph. Once again archaeological evidence authenticates Biblical documentation.
I have a weird mind.
The SDA and Jews for Jesus type groups are the only “reasonable” nexuses there are between Jewish and Christian practice today, and SDA kind of stumbled into it and does not have as well developed theology here. I’ve seen some “unreasonable” ones that misunderestimate the role of Christ, but not talking more about that here.
I don’t go for supersessionary theories here as far as a literal Jewish people is concerned. That is a line of Abrahamic faith whose recognition of a Savior is to come in the future and will at that time crown the faith story of the world once more, bringing both Old and New Testaments to fulfillment.
There is some speculation that the chamber(s) were used for grain storage. Whatever. The fact that you would take Carson’s theory about this so seriously is an indication of shallowness; the same that attends to low-information, knee jerk voters.
Carson is not a good candidate. This is the least of the reasons.
Since you apparently rely on a candidate’s ability to cipher ancient pyramid theories I question your ability to tell a good candidate from a bad one. Please, for the sake of maintaining a country capable of self-government, stay away from the voting booth.
You didn’t read what I said or you wouldn’t have written what you wrote.
Walker bruise? Walker was never my candidate and his actions were predictable.
It makes no sense when we have two outstanding candidates in the race to put our country in further peril with someone as unqualified and unsuited as Carson.
Anybody who believes that the pyramids would be efficient grain silos is a fool whose policies as President would make Obama look like a model of financial responsibility
Anybody who places so much weight into theories about pyramids as if they should determine who is to govern this country is not worthy of pulling the levers of self-government.
