“Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson has been fired from the reality program following his controversial remarks in GQ magazine regarding homosexuality.
A+E Networks, parent company of A&E, has released the following statement to Variety:
“We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty. His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community.”
I stand with Phil Robertson. He told the unvarnished truth about what the Creator of the Universe thinks of homosexuality, and Robertson is being punished for it. The demographic that watches Duck Dynasty believes what Robertson said: homosexuality is a grave sin, condemned by God, and none who practice it will enter the Kingdom of God.
A+E probably considers Phil’s statements to violate the standard “morals clause”.
Boy, that’s some SERIOUS irony!
Probably just the one character. A lot of these reality family shows have family members who you don’t see because they didn’t want to be on television. What they’ll do is change the situation a little and hope people won’t notice.

A&E is owned by NBC Entertainment, Disney, and Hearst, a virtual queer media trifecta.
