MSNBC is having an on air meltdown over a man their camera crew videotaped openly carrying a handgun at an anti-Obama protest in Portsmouth, New Hampshire this morning near where Barack Obama will be holding a town hall meeting later today.
MSNBC showed footage of the man with the gun openly holstered to his right leg. He was holding a large sign with words about the tree of liberty.
The Portsmouth police chief informed MSNBC the man was legally armed.
The man was reportedly standing with a group of protesters on the property of a church.
More as this develops.
Define "in the vicinity." The Secret Service defines it as within their secure perimeter in which they are lawfully authorized to disarm anyone wishing to enter regardless of state or federal law concerning possession of weapons, and they have things quite well in hand judging by their track record.
We're not talking here about someone "in the vicinity." We're talking about someone down the road and around the bend. You sure couldn't glean that by MSNBC's breathless reporting, but that's the facts of the matter.
Well said.
That's the same list I've seen elsewhere. I thought it was a great list, just what I was looking for and it would be even better to show up next Saturday with a printout of the 1018-page bill at my Congressman's THM and recite from the bill itself.
Therefore, I took the list and started looking for those things in the bill. After I looked up two or three of the worst-sounding items and finding the claims were apparently false, I gave up.
Here's one example:
Is that rationing? A sloppy reading might give someone that impression but, clearly, those $5K and $10K limits on cost-sharing (defined on page 8) refer to the maximum out-of-pocket costs that the insured will pay; they are not limits on what the plan will pay. Thus, I am left to conclude nothing on page 29 suggests health care will be rationed.
Make no mistake, I absolutely despise everything about this bill, from its premise to those who support it. I hope I'm wrong about the above example and the rest of that list. But, at this point, it seems to me if Obama wants to discredit us liberty-loving Americans, all he needs to do is sit down in front of a TV camera and go through this list that so many of us seem to be depending on and show where each one of its claims is false.
It's enough to make me wonder where that list originated. If I wanted to make conservatives look silly and ruin their credibility, I'd pose as one of them and circulate something like that.
How were you hassled if it was concealed?
And yes, PA is very gun-friendly. One of the (many) reasons I moved here from NY.
Those folks in Fla and Missouri didn’t shut up, nor did they show up with a visible firearm. The folks on the I am the Mob vid are there with their signs and their presence, not with firearms. This battle is going to be won at the ballot box, not in the streets in a firefight.
“it’s time to water the tree of liberty.....”
Reckon MSNBC knows what words come after that?
You comment is excellent. There is no good time to wear a pistol openly, especially if the state controlled media is reporting on it.
I have read a lot, not all, but a lot of the posts.
Is there one post that comments on the behavior and comportment of the armed citizen?
His behavior and comportment is more important than what he is carrying.
“Thanks for your replies. I am not familiar with guns”
Please please please go to a local gun shop and seek some training and education. Contact the NRA. They have training as well.
The quickest cure for hoplophobia is learning to shoot.
T H U G S
will not be making ANY moves to beat this ARMED protester, they only attack UNARMED black and white peaceful protesters who do not have the ability to defend themselves.
This guy brought a GUN to a fist fight, hence he stayed safe!
...Legally armed SS, to protect the president. Legally armed police to protect the citizens. Legally armed citizen, to protect himself from “All the presidents thugs”...
Anywhere and everywhere citizens can openly carry legally they should.
And you don’t know what those folks in FL or MO had that they did not show.
You suggest that citizens refrain from excercising one right. Why is that? Why do you think that the non verbal communication from armed citizens should not be employed?
Maybe you’re just too timid or squeamish for this?
Me? I applaud the man and those like him.
Label me another fool.
Is this really paradise?
PS, Why does the Kenyan get body guards armed to the teeth and we do not have the right to protect our own lives with firearms?
Pandering to the "moderates" has been such a smashing success for the Republicans, we need to use that strategy in everything we do.
I mean, what would happen if the media found a reason not to like us? Why, they might, like, start slandering us and making up stuff to discredit us.
It's a much better Idea to stick with the proven winning strategy of sucking up to the mushy middle.
Lead the way brother!!
It is the truth behind this man’s statement — and the knowledge that he is not alone that worry the Socialists/Communists/Fascists. They know they can’t achieve the control they crave under our laws and that “gun-toting” citizens are the ones protecting those laws ultimately.
Live Free Or Die!!
Very good point...
BTTT
I loved that statement in the article. It says a lot.
It’s probably the cheapest gun he owns — in case for some reason it got confiscated... Given his sign and all...
