The second has obviously been photoshopped from the first. You can overlay the wto (in phtoshop, for example) and they are identical. Noone can do that with two images, separately taken.

Also, the fake old torn one’s edges are to uniformly jagged. Also the tear itself is fake. No real tear looks like that and it certainly would not have the same jagged edges as the sides of the document.

Your right these are not two different versions... And no, the photos were not taken at different times. The second photo is a Photoshopped hack of the first document. Contrast enhanced and image darken, background cut away and made black, and a sloppy Torn Edges filter job.

Whoever done it, was not very good. ;^)

The Republic of Kenyan Constitution was ratified on December 12, 1963.

The document you show is dated December 10, 1963.

As though, in the days of the modern printing press, there weren't thousands of copies of the soon-to-be-ratified constitution distributed for public perusal. This distinction between dates two days apart is not really meaningful. This is not equivalent to finding an old coin dated 15 B.C..

I think I agree. It would be very unlikely that photographs on two separate occasions would be taken at eaxctly EXACTLY the same angle, with exactly the same lighting, resulting in exaclty the same shadow formations.

The edges are not mere pixellations, but are intentional editing as you suggest. I don’t know what they were after, but I’d suggest that the second version be tossed. This image has been manipulated as you suggest.
