The White House is lashing out publicly and personally at a CNBC reporter whose attack on President Barack Obamas anti-foreclosure plan caught fire on the Internet on Thursday.
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs jumped at the chance to go after the CNBC journalist, Rick Santelli, when a question about his bracing critique was asked at Fridays news briefing.
Ive watched Mr. Santelli on cable the past 24 hours or so. Im not entirely sure where Mr. Santelli lives or in what house he lives but the American people are struggling every day to meet their mortgages, stay in their jobs, pay their bills, send their kids to school, Gibbs said. I think we left a few months ago the adage that if it was good for a derivatives trader that it was good for Main Street. I think the verdict is in on that, the press secretary said, poking directly at the cable journalist, who reports from the trading floor at the Chicago Board of Trade.
Gibbs insisted Santelli was misinformed when he said Obamas program would amount to a transfer of money from prudent taxpayers to those who had taken reckless risks.

I know all that. But also consider that Obama has a narcissistic personality disorder on top of that. This takeover should have proceeded slowly. People would have been asleep until too it’s late. Now a lot of people are riled. Obama’s “I won” speaks to the problem.
If we aren't paying our mortgage we get help from obambi.
And in honor of Geithner, we should throw our tax money in after the mortgages (throw away monopoly money for that, use real money to pay your maid/butler/gardner).
Starting to sound better and better....
Good catch. That “rule” seems to motivate them most enthusiastically.
What they're going to figure out is if they attack the President they can get mentioned by the White House Press Secretary!
“A Million Man Chicago tea party in July would be worth skipping work for.”
Hmmmmmmmmmmm....schedule around the Blues festival in the Park and I’m there...
Joe the Plumber is pretty famous now. They didn't hurt him a bit. Politics isn't a pillow fight, let 'em mouth off! Every bit of BS out of their yaps just validates our position that much more.
Dems alresdy have the bitter renters.
re: his home
First of all, as usual, it’s none of their damned business what house he has, what he makes. At least he worked for it... not campaigned with a snappy PR ads, cheating ACORN workers, terror advocating so-called professors, pay for play, who he knew or promised to kickback.
I bet a campaign financing Syrian thug didn’t pay in order for a ‘loser who couldn’t afford it’, to get his million dollar home... helped by another thug and friend of Saddam who, wanted by Interpol in two countries and neck-deep in Oil for Food, sent first thug the money to help said ‘loser’ get his home.
This would be a good time to bring the O’s home purchase up again, as well as how he got the lakefront condo with Rezko’s help before that (not to mention his friend Gutierrez, who’s pushing amnesty now behind the scenes, Jesse Jr. and others who got home help). Maybe this time Auchi’s lawyers will lay off the threat letters to blogs and everyone can learn how much O ‘cares’ about housing for others on the southside re: Rezko and Jarrett, Davis and Daley. Then we can move to the banks that gave the ‘loans’, starring Alexi Gianoulias and Massuda... he doesn’t want that, trust me.
BTW, anyone notice the hero didn’t come forth for those ‘oppressed, years free renting, Gucci bag buying, crime spawning’ Katrina victims?
Bravo Santelli! Now they’re market experts on the hill... expect statements from Dodd, Frank, Biden and other friends of Angelo. Those clowns have no idea how many have left the floor and firms to go to the hedge funds/other firms due to his caps and BS he knows NOTHING about. You would think after the seventh time opening his mouth and the market tanking 3 or 4 hundred each time, they would get it. But that’s O’s plan. Osama couldn’t do better himself... but at least he once worked for a living with dad’s contruction company.
See you in July... if he’s still around or not. There’s a pool on how fast the secret service got to his house (in view of what happened with the truck sticker guy).
Gibbs should know he’s being played the jester, as are all delegated to, he will take the blame.
They said take advantage of crisis, that’s what the reds are doing.
I disagree...at least Baghdad Bob was funny!
A pasty twerp punk who probably has to pay for dates.
Who is he related to that got him that job????"
Scottie McClellan maybe?
“Im not entirely sure where Mr. Santelli lives or in what house he lives “
Not so hidden marching orders to some of “The Dear Leader’s” brownshirts in Chicago. Look for a mysterious fire.
screw you, zero
i did not work 2 jobs putting myself through college, then work 80-110 hours/week to pay off remaining bills and save... only to turn around now that i am getting ahead, and pay out 50-80% of MY CHECK to the slackers that were making stupid moves and expecting everything even though they couldn’t afford it. not to mention the real idiots that were getting stoned instead of going to college.
screw them and screw anyone that thinks it makes sense to take what i worked hard for and give it to those that haven’t
meanwhile... didn’t we just have a $180m party last month in washdc? when the frickin idiots from the NEW Black Overclass start eating oodles of noodles instead of iranian caviar, maybe i’ll soften on my position
of course... all we need is for 20,000 people living in new york making over $250k to move away (come to florida). that will put a wrench into the socialists plans.
and no... i do not want to see the socialist succeed at my expense, all the while destroying the country that me and mine have worked and bled for.
Screw the White House. The Marxist is trying to stifle any dissent. Santelli is a hero.
Watch a Gibbs press briefing from beginning to end.
Since the Governement isn’t using the Constitution any more...can I have it?
“leave the gun...take the cannoli...”
