WHILE campaigning in public for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, Sen. Barack Obama has tried in private to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence.
According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July.
"He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington," Zebari said in an interview.
Obama insisted that Congress should be involved in negotiations on the status of US troops - and that it was in the interests of both sides not to have an agreement negotiated by the Bush administration in its "state of weakness and political confusion."

I do remember hearing that quote.
Are you part of the new media or not? If you are, hit your contact list.
Totally sickening.
exactly..
Isn’t that Ilegal?
“If this is not treason it is the first cousin of treason. “
No dare call it treason. This is a violation of the Logan Act.

For Obama to send such a message to foreign ministers in the context of negotiations that were active by the administration ... is egregious.
If you recall, we had the nonsense of Nancy Pelosi in Syria in 2007, and we had leftie-commie Congresscritters go to Baghdad prior to the War in Iraq.
Obama joins Jimmy Carter and other useless globetrotters as an AWOL negotiator:

WOW!
Marking to read later.
This should be the beginning of the end of Mr. Obama’s campaign.
“Yes, but all he has to do is deny he said it and it turns into a stalemate. This could have legs politically, but I cant imagine it will get to the point of legal action.”
It doesnt need to... We havent sent Pelosi, Carter, Jess jackson, and SCong McDermott to jail for their Logan Act violations. It seems the arrogant libs feel a right to ignore the constitutional view that the chief executive is the President, and want to play the role ad hoc.
What Obama did was no worse but also not better than Jimmy Carter singing Kumbaya with Hamas. ... it was bad enough to say that this guy REALLY should be barred from the Presidency.
Isn’t this against the law?
This is incredible. Thanks for posting it.
I just put up another thread giving instructions on what we can do about it - http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2082701/posts
Bump!
First off, this could possibly be the final salvo needed to sink Obama’s candidancy. Secondly, what the heck is “GIS?”
it was reported at the time.
While the Bush administration would like to see an agreement reached before the summers political conventions, Mr. Obama said today that he opposed such a timetable.
My concern is that the Bush administration, in a weakened state politically, ends up trying to rush an agreement that in some ways might be binding to the next administration, whether its my administration or Senator McCains administration, Mr. Obama said.

FOXNews now has the story on its site:
Marking to read later.
This should be the beginning of the end of Mr. Obamas campaign.
Me too. This should get interesting!!!!!
“GIs” is what was meant.
It was reported, and therefore a non-issue to the MSM. I don’t think anything will come out of this.
