The Hunt for American al Qaeda

The United States is turning up the heat in the hunt for the California boy turned al Qaeda operative, Adam Gadahn, who has been charged with treason and is believed to be hiding in Afghanistan. If caught and convicted, Gadahn could face the death penalty.

The State Department along with the Department of Diplomatic Security announced the beginning of a publicity campaign in Afghanistan urging locals to provide any information on Gadahn's whereabouts, with a reward if the information leads to his capture.

Radio advertisements with information concerning the $1 million reward have already begun airing. Additionally, printed materials including matchbooks, handbills and posters will be distributed throughout the region in the coming weeks in attempts to elicit cooperation from members of the Afghan community. I just wanted to add...when I started working at a hospital in “82” the bomb threat policy was that staff were not to leave but to look around their work areas and let LE know if anything out of place. We had no threats during the several years that I worked there.

Hard to guess, why it was done, but it worked, think of the thousands of lost dollars to Walmart.

You’re welcome - it’s really nice to speak with you. I know it’s been a while...

No doubt Wal-mart lost a TON of money this afternoon... My husband probably had at least $75.00 worth of stuff in his basket. And, I don’t think we’ll be going back in the next day or so, frankly. At least I won’t be - my husband is probably braver than I!

I’m still in shock, but just flabbergasted at the amount of time it took him to leave the store - and he was in the checkout lanes at the time right by the front of the store. I can’t imagine how long it took those in the back of the store to get out...

I’m pretty confident at this point that this was just a threat, but geesh. It would be very easy to cause maximum damage and casualties if they had targeted the doorways. Praying it wasn’t some sort of a “dry-run”.

I just thank God that everyone is OK, most especially my husband of course.

I found it a little strange, too. I’m wondering at this point how much confusion was a factor. My husband was at the front registers, so the nearest exits there were of course the front entrances. As I said according to him it took 20 minutes from the time they told him to leave till he got to his car in the lot. I would think they would be using all the fire exits and such in a case like this, but who knows. I’ll have to talk to him more when he gets home - he was in shock and worried about getting to work so it was hard to get any good info. out of him. The poor guy even forgot his coffee here at home when he left!

I have not been able to cross-reference the information in her article, however, the information is specific and detailed enough that it merits review.

Employees and shoppers are being allowed back into the Rib Mountain Wal-mart after a bomb scare.

The Marathon County Sheriff’s Department tells NewsChannel 7 that the incident happened shortly before 4 p.m.

After everyone was evacuated, the Marathon/Oneida County Bomb Squad swept the building. Employees were then allowed back in, followed by the shoppers.

The men who pulled up in three white pickup trucks were looking for Patson Chipiro, head of the Zimbabwean opposition party in Mhondoro district. His wife, Dadirai, told them he was in Harare but would be back later in the day, and the men departed.

An hour later they were back. They grabbed Mrs Chipiro and chopped off one of her hands and both her feet. Then they threw her into her hut, locked the door and threw a petrol bomb through the window.

The killing last Friday – one of the most grotesque atrocities committed by Robert Mugabe’s regime since independence in 1980 – was carried out on a wave of worsening brutality before the run-off presidential elections in just over two weeks. It echoed the activities of Foday Sankoh, the rebel leader in the Sierra Leone civil war that ended in 2002, whose trade-mark was to chop off hands and feet.

Mrs Chipiro, 45, a former pre-school teacher, was the second wife of a junior official of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) burnt alive last Friday by Zanu (PF) militiamen. Pamela Pasvani, the 21-year-old pregnant wife of a local councillor in Harare, did not suffer mutilation but died later of her burns; his six-year-old son perished in the flames.

Yesterday about 70 local MDC supporters gathered in Mr Chipiro’s small yard in Mhondoro, 90 miles south of Harare, to protect him. Inside the hut where his wife of 29 years died, women sang softly to a subdued drum beat next to the cheap wooden coffin. Ahmadinejad: Iran Now At Nuclear Peak

In a speech in Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari province in central Iran, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that President Bush’s time was past and that he “cannot hurt even one centimeter of Iranian soil.”
