Attn McCain Apologists: Talk all you want! (Vanity)

Attn McCain Apologists: Talk all you want!

But he's still a constitution trampling RINO and unless he repeals McCain-Feingold, repudiates amnesty and global warming, drops all support for embryonic stem cell research and stops talking about partnering up with the Democrats and instead swears to fight the evil bastards he won't be getting my support.

You kicked the conservatives to the curb and nominated your RINO, now all you gotta do is get him elected.

However, that shouldn't be all that tough to do. Look what he'll be running against. A corrupt, power hungry Marxist radical feminist control freak or a corrupt, America-hating racist Marxist surrender monkey (oops, can I say "surrender monkey" in this context?). Can't see America going for either of those two useful idiots.

By the way, "change" is a Marxist codeword.

As they say, America deserves better.

Carry on.

P.S.

Or, you can select a kick butt pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-America, pro-gun, pro-drilling, pro-defense, pro-small government, fiscal conservative as your running mate and signal a return to traditional conservatism as the future of the GOP and of America and you will get all the support you need. If she's a moose hunting Alaskan army mom, all the better!

McCain had some work done before Letterman. His face looked tighter to me. His hair was still a combover but was thicker. Maybe he has a fake combover.

>>Fighting from within gives you zero leverage. Being an indy, they need to try to figure out how to get indys back.<<

I believe in the seemingly contradictory idea of working from within while being independent where it counts. I was at the Republican county convention last weekend, and I’m here to tell you was an extraordinary amount of dissatisfaction with McCain. Our Texas state republican platform calls ending the Trans Texas Corridor (NAU infrastucture) with extreme prejudice.

As I understand it, the only way she will have enough delegates for the nomination is if the Supers hand it to her.

She needs 90% of the black vote to win in the general election.

I don’t think enough blacks will be so inclined to vote for her should she wrest the nomination from Obama. In fact, they will probably be downright mad at her.

In any case, keeping the campaign going until the election is absolutely delicious. They will have to spend their money, and bloody each other up, until that time.

BTW, I don’t know if I will be voting for Hillary. What I do know is that the plan is to vote for the one who is behind in the polls. As it stands now, that would be Hillary, but that could change between now and the primary.

Again, using your very words, “truly conservative candidates” would have scared away the “waving wheats”,

OK, so now we have to forget about ever having another real conservative as president?

I can't accept that. I believe it is entirely possible, even likely, that a real conservative can win if he is the right man for the time as Reagan was for his. I realize that RR was elected twice by landslides not necessarily because of his conservatism, but probably as much because of his appealing personality, his enthusiastic and contagious optimism for America's future, and his All-American appeal to millions of patriotic Americans of all political persuasions. But I can't believe that he was a once in a lifetime aberration, there are bound to be conservatives today in the political and/or public realm in some significant capacity who have enough of those same characteristics to inspire a similar kind of response, although perhaps to a somewhat lesser degree, from the majority of today's Americans who are not way out on either end of the spectrum and are dissatisfied with what both parties continue to offer them.

IOW, I suppose what I'm trying to say and using too many words to say is that I believe that a great many, if not most, voters are more attracted or repelled by the personal characteristics and telegenic qualities of a candidate than they are by his or her niche on the political spectrum as long as that niche isn't too awfully far out on either side of center. This time the Democrats seem to have found that candidate in Obama, except for his niche on the far left side of the spectrum that most voters are not fully aware of yet and which if the media can help it they won't be aware of until after he takes office. They also had it in Bill Clinton, JFK, RFK, (if he had lived) and later on possibly evan John Junior,(if he had lived) but it doesn't always have to be the Dems who get lucky.

The GOP leadership needs to be beating the bushes looking for a personally attractive Republican man or woman with leadership experience who projects an upbeat enthusiasm for America's future and is also reasonably conservative. But instead, the clique of wealthy, influential, country club centrist type GOP leaders such as those who make up Christy Todd Whitman's multiple inner circle groups and organizations must spend their time and effort between elections identifying just another blah, unappealing, centrist dullard like Gerald Ford or Bob Dole to promote and support, and apparently the closest they could come to their ideal this time was McCain.

Of course that would be the same McCain who is our presumptive nominee, this current cycle's unappealing, septuagenarian, centrist dullard who has probably stabbed more conservative backs than any other living high level officeholder who has an inappropriate R tacked onto his name.

So I do what I can when I can, which isn’t real often. :(

Glad to see you are giving the Li(e)beral Left fits! Keep up the good work on OPERATION CHAOS! (As if the Democraps need help with CHAOS, LOL !!!) :)

McCain was the least likely... Something had to happen behind the scenes because we are screwed.

Just so. That "something" is something I haven't heard or seen discussed anywhere by GOP muckity mucks or even McCain's former opponents. It's almost as though he was knighted in the back room(s) then suddenly resurrected from the tomb - soon to become the front runner and presumptive nominee. Kindof has a funny smell to it...

To this day I'm unable to figger out how McCain was able to pull it off. He was biding his time, waiting in the weeds when something happened. What was it???

- - - - -

Well, it appears that the 'RATS did to the GOP what Rush and OPERATION CHAOS is doing to obama??? I think maybe the media and the 'RATS picked McRINO. I know that I didn't vote for him!

Otherwise, if you keep rewarding them with votes every time they offer you crap for a candidate, they'll just keep offering you more crap.

That was my point.

McCain might think about making some adjustments If Bob Barr starts pulling away votes.

A third party run can only effect McCain before the election. My point was that that will have no effect on McCain after the election.

The only possible thing that can be accomplished by promoting Barr is electing the Democrat. If that is what you want to do, go ahead. Nothing anybody is going to say is going to stop you.

I just love how people talk in circles just to get 'round to doing what they wanted to do all along. You don't like McCain. I get that. Neither do I. But promoting Bob Barr is just self-defeating nonsense.

Now, that is the most short sighting statement I’ve ever read on freerepublic. Jim, no donation is the result.

You are an idiot. If you EVER bothered to read Jim Robinson's statement as to what FR is, you would NOT be suprised by his thread. Since I'm pretty sure you wont BOTHER to find it, I'll save you a few clicks and post it for you, again, idiot.

Statement by the founder of Free Republic:

In our continuing fight for freedom, for America and our constitution and against totalitarianism, socialism, tyranny, terrorism, etc., Free Republic stands firmly on the side of right, i.e., the conservative side. Believing that the best defense is a strong offense, we (myself and those whom I'm trying to attract to FR) support the strategy of taking the fight to the enemy as opposed to allowing the enemy the luxury of conducting their attacks on us at home on their terms and on their schedule.

Therefore, we wholeheartedly support the Bush Doctrine of pre-emptive strikes on known terrorist states and organizations that are believed to present a clear threat to our freedom or national security. We support our military, our troops and our Commander-in-Chief and we oppose turning control of our government back over to the liberals and socialists who favor appeasement, weakness, and subserviency. We do not believe in surrendering to the terrorists as France, Germany, Russia and Spain have done and as Kerry, Kennedy, Clinton and the Democrats, et al, are proposing.

As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty.

Free Republic is private property. It is not a government project, nor is it funded by government or taxpayer money. We are not a publicly owned entity nor are we an IRS tax-free non-profit organization. We pay all applicable taxes on our income. We are not connected to or funded by any political party, news agency, or any other entity. We sell no merchandise, product or service, and we offer no subscriptions or paid memberships. We accept no paid advertising or promotions. We are funded solely by donations (non tax deductible gifts) from our readers and participants.

We aggressively defend our God-given and first amendment guaranteed rights to free speech, free press, free religion, and freedom of association, as well as our constitutional right to control the use and content of our own personal private property. Despite the wailing of the liberal trolls and other doom & gloom naysayers, we feel no compelling need to allow them a platform to promote their repugnant and obnoxious propaganda from our forum. Free Republic is not a liberal debating society. We are conservative activists dedicated to defending our rights, defending our constitution, defending our republic and defending our traditional American way of life.

Our God-given liberty and freedoms are not negotiable.

May God bless and protect our men and women in uniform fighting for our freedom and may God continue to bless America.

Jim Robinson
