A third party run can only effect McCain before the election. My point was that that will have no effect on McCain after the election.
The only possible thing that can be accomplished by promoting Barr is electing the Democrat. If that is what you want to do, go ahead. Nothing anybody is going to say is going to stop you.
I just love how people talk in circles just to get 'round to doing what they wanted to do all along. You don't like McCain. I get that. Neither do I. But promoting Bob Barr is just self-defeating nonsense.

If McCain started to use his position as a Senator to keep his CPAC promise, that would be difficult to undo if he became POTUS.

I would advise you to keep your day job instead of reading my mind, because you are not very good at it. I would rather support the Republican nominee, because I agree with you that if Barr did get a significant number of Republican votes, of course that would help the Dem nominee, and I do think that both Dem nominees would make a horrible POTUS.
The trouble is that I am not sure that, in the long run, McCain would be better. He might be more, or less, effective at pushing amnesty, which would create millions of new Dem voters. I can’t predict the future, but based upon the current evidence, I think all 3 candidates are very dangerous.
I don’t know if I could support Barr or not in November. I just used Barr as an example of how unpredictable politics can be.
I strongly disagree. There's no sense in supporting a GOP that's nothing but a democrat-lite party. Time to pull its plug and begin retiring it now. It might hurt to lose the White House in 2008, but if MacNutJob wins, the GOP continues its leftward slither and the RINOs/NeoCons become even more firmly entrenched.
A good bitch-slapping to the GOP will either knock some sense into them, or kill them and make way for their new conservative succesor.
