We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to rule over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?
Finally! You've hit the truth.
>>>>>I will, at least until I'm banned, too.
So you're looking to get banned. At least you're honest about it. But this is no game. You're not gonna go down in history for begging to be banned from FR. LOL
What did Reagan do after it was clear that Ford had the nomination?
I’m aiming for 13,501.
JimRob for President!
And this time, they’ll come over because they can’t stand to be aligned with the Party of Defeat and they’ll come over because they don’t want more confiscatory taxation.
No, I’m not looking to get banned. But the potential of such an action won’t stop me from being frank and speaking my mind.
If I wanted to be banned, I would have opused days ago. ;-)
The secret is to go back to the foundational principles and make sure that THEY are the common ground we build on. Otherwise, it’s the Tower of Babel, built on sinking sand.

It never reached the point that the party left him...I suspect he would put the future of America over mere party loyalty. He was an American, with a great dream for America first; a republican second. He would not have sacrificed America’s future to the altar of the Republican party...but he would have worked hard to get the party where it ought to be, given the choice.
“You know...perhaps, if FreeRepublic would have had ‘special invitation’ threads...aka known as anti-Rudy threads...none of this would have happened.
Allow the great unwashed the ability to look over your shoulder...for an education, etc., but no opposite point of view allowed....so that you stay focused, etc..”
“It would have worked.”
That should be addressed with the man that started this thread.
“I ask those of you who are able to stand back and look at yourselves ...It aint pretty.”
I knew you were into pretty. “I’m so pretty, I’m so pretty......Edwards campaign?
“Why Johnny Ringo! You looked like somebody just walked over your grave!”
I do believe the man had principles and wouldn't at that point. What would he do today? The "party" isn't what is was then. Wish he was here, I can't believe he'd go for today's offerings.
“It’s also been a loss to the Free Republic community at large. I mourn their loss”
Just my opinion, but it seems that mentally, you’ve already taken yourself out of the FR community at large. Just my observation on your comment.
My last count is 46 involving some banned from other threads that were reported on here. I think it’s a shame that it had to come down to this, but seems some FReepers accepted liberalism to accept liberal Rudy. Either that, or they were liberal all along. I haven’t been here long enough to know for sure. Some of the names on the banned list I recognized, but others I did not.

No talking behind my back, ya'll hear me?? ;^)
“>>>>>It’s also been a loss to the Free Republic community at large. I mourn their loss, especially those conservatives that left in protest.<<<<<<
Like so many others, you’re under some illusion. If someone wants to promote liberalism and oppose conservatism, then FR is not for them....”
If Rudy is the chosen candidate of the Republican party against Hillary Clinton, it is NOT “promoting liberalism and opposing conservatism” to support him.
In fact, it would promote liberalism (and oppose conservatism) by staying home and letting Hillary win. It’s THAT simple.
Now, at the risk of repeating myself...
A) I do not agree with Rudy’s social positions (abortion, gay marriage, gun control).
B) I wish there was a conservative in the race whom I could see as electable. At present, there isn’t.
On the other hand, I respect what he’s been able to accomplish, I respect his courage to say what he thinks and stand up to people, and I respect his track record in getting things done. For others of you, I guess, the fact that he showed up at a charity event in drag is evidently all you need to cross him off your list, and let Her Highness take the throne.
“I will, at least until I’m banned, too.”
Your way out in the outer orbit of the light.
Amen.
