Brit Hume announced story coming up now on National Guard docmunents
That's what I was thinking about Harkin. I am totally convinced all dems are absolutely crazy. There is no other way to explain it.
Great analogy:)
Hugh Hewitt just requested that Freepers start a thread showing what the MSM said before and after the fraud story came out.
New taglines coming fast and furious .......
Byron York on with Brit.
Brit starts with "Let's presume authentic, what is new, if anything"
York says we knew he had not taken physical, knew he had been grounded. Did not know an actual order was given for physical.
The Boston Globe report that claims Bush was supposed to report to base in Boston is wrong, York says. Bush's honorable disharge issued before the date in question.
York: Explaining what the documents purport to be and says there are definitely odd aspects to them.
York: Killian appears to be a Jekyll and Hyde character when you compare tone of these new memos with the other records of glowing reviews.
York now addressing the font business and the superscript problems. Says these questions have been raised and so far their info is the typing not possible. Brit says one of their producers did a typing in Word and got the reproduction others here have produced.
York spoke to nationally recognized expert who said this was produced on a typewriter, but other experts said no. But the expert who said typewriter possible was flummoxed over the superscript. The expert had no explanation for that.
This is so Hugh, if the rest of the media outlets pick up on the possibility its fake, this throws into DOUBT every single accusation of AWOL against Bush. CBS made a huge mistake by running with an unverified document.
Is it likely that there are records showing what kind of typewriters they used back then. The Military runs things pretty tight and pretty uniformly, no?
Wouldn't they probably have a contract with a vendor for such items?
There's got to be a way to unequiovacally prove these things Rather docs are forged.
On this thread http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1210946/posts I posted a copmarison to a scan from an actual IBM Executive.
The typeface is obviously NOT the same.
I thought the most DAMNING aspect is how it showed letters like "i" being tucked under, say an "f". This would only happen on a computer. How would a 1972 typewriter "know" what letter came first, and then to tuck it under?
By acclamation!
Hip hip, HOORAY for Howlin!!
The original story regarding President Bush' guard duty was on MSNBC an hour ago...the story is no longer there...hmmmmm
Check this out, the PDF document from the CBS News site overlaid on a Microsoft Word document:
On DU, they're claiming that the White House released identical copies of the same memos, and that Andrew Sullivan said so in his blog. Does anyone here know anything about that?
The Bouthard link is key.
Bouthard is the expert. He says that the numeral '4' didn't exist in that form on any typewriter ever.
Damning stuff.

Good polls out and CBS looking like fools. What a wonderful news cycle today!
Someone pointed out that forging a military doc is a crime that has its own category.
I think the cops would have every reason to bust down the doors at CBS, IF someone would, as a private citizen complain to them (either NYC cops or FBI in NYC). They certainly have enough for probable cause.
Finding a non-liberal judge to approve the warrant would be the hard part......
Congrats! to those who broke this story last night!
Has anybody bothered to check PO Box 34567 in Houstan, TX? Google search shows it as (or was) Ashland Oil. I wonder if Box 34567 even existed at that time? Should be easy for anybody in MSM to find out (Sean?)
