Trump said he would host his own Iowa town hall to raise money for veterans and let other networks cover it. One clear sign of the gravity of tonight's development is the sense of confusion that is swirling throughout Fox. The network is split between Kelly's allies like Brit Hume and conservative anchors that are furious that Kelly - who graces the cover of Vanity Fair this month - has become the face of the network. An anchor fumed that Kelly hosted Michael Moore on her program tonight and the lefty filmmaker defended her against Trump. "That would be like Rachel Maddow laughing along with Charles Koch as he trashed Hillary Clinton!" the anchor said. One producer speculated that Fox could go "National Review" on Trump and start attacking him...
No matter how loudly GOP candidates complained about Fox's loutish politics in private, none risked taking Ailes on in public for fear of losing access to this crucial constituency - until Trump, that is. Even if Trump's boycott backfires, he's already achieved a historic victory: Exploding the myth that a Republican candidate can't openly challenge Fox.

OAN?
This would have been an ho hum debate for him. He throws a little of his usual predebate hype to get the ratings up. I’m sure he fully intended on going. Probably not excited, but was in...
Then two things happen, at least two that we know about.
1. The Despicable FOX press release. Who wrote it? Kelly?
2. Trump uncovers the plan to have the Muslim woman plant there to ask question of him.
That would be a no win for Trump, as she would have done the Jorge Ramos on him...
I hope he doesn’t change his mind. Pick the tiniest town in Iowa and do a Townhall there or Vet hospital somewhere and tour the place with cameras.
The only people backing the press, are the press, and the Cruz camp.
Trump gets big points from the people that already have a low opinion of the media.
That population is growing, maybe quickly. I think it is a good thing that Trump doesn't play the games that the bad people in the traditional media set up. He's calling them out on their duplicity.
What might that be? Sincerely curious what you have in mind.
It sure played in Rubio's favor, even though his claims included exaggerations and falsehoods. He put a pile of dirt on Cruz's plate, and the clock ran out before Cruz could clean it.
Interesting how the press can take an unsourced speculative piece and make it sound factual.
Roger Ailes should be fired. Megyn should be forced to work the rest of her contract.
It’s chaos when you raise the average intellectual age of the participants by at least ten years?
I do not know.
But to me this whole thing with FOX has the look and feel of a pre-attack MANEUVER and that the real battle offensive is just over the horizon.
I can SMELL it coming. Like napalm in the morning.
‘Cruz said that some of the more extreme birthers think that, not that he does.’
That is not true. No one believes this because it is an impossibility. After the debate I asked Cruz supporters to provide examples of birthers who believe this. None could. Not only that, but what IF you could find some halfwit with an IQ of 80 who believes it? So what??? You can find halfwits who believe a lot of nonsensical, impossible things. What does that prove? That some people have well below average IQ?
It was a strawman on Cruz’ part. The EXACT type of strawman Obama depends on. “Some say X,” Obama drones—when in reality nobody in the world says X. It’s just Obama’s mentally deficient way of making a stupid point no intelligent person would be caught dead making to begin with.
In Cruz’ case, he wanted to boorishly, nastily and illogically drag Trump’s mother into it. So he created a class of birthers that doesn’t exist and used it to try to get a rise out of Trump. And failed.
Debate-tactic-wise, it was stupid off the charts.
...sits at big table.
Thanks. You had my wheels turning! I figure the next big move is the caucus results. Meanwhile, Trump is continuing to attack Cruz on eligibility and honesty grounds. He’s painting Cruz as a faker, a charlatan, a lightweight, a prima donna who can’t get things done because he’s made enemies in high places. He has Cruz on the defensive, and Cruz hasn’t figured out a way to turn that table around.
Keep your hands away from its mouth, Megyn.
Seriously???
You are correct
Agreed.
We’ve been bitching about the influence the MSM has over us for years. Now here we have a candidate that’s taking them head on and some are bitching about that!
WTH?
Trump is rewriting the playbook and the rulebook and the pundits and the elites are scratching their asses wondering what the hell is going on.
I LOVE IT!
Nice analysis Al Bundy.
I haven’t watched Faux News in many years now, but from what I’ve read this couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch.
