In a new poll of likely Republican primary voters nationwide by Zogby Analytics, 2012 GOP nominee Romney leads the pack with 14%, followed by former Florida Governor Jeb Bush (12%), Kentucky Senator Rand Paul (10%), New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (8%), former Arkansas Governor and now Fox News Host Mike Huckabee (7%), Florida Senator Marco Rubio (7%), Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker (5%), Rep. and former Vice Presidential nominee Paul Ryan (4%), Texas Governor Rick Perry (4%), Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal (3%), Texas Senator Ted Cruz (3%), South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley (2%), former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum (1%), and both Ohio Senator Rob Portman and New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez tied at .3%.
“Jeb is a semi-conservative.”
I’m actually looking for a candidate that isn’t a corporate hack that will cater to K-Street above all.
A candidate with a bit of a populist message catering to the middle class will go far this cycle.
No, it is just a poll of a few hundred people. ZOgby polls are not as good as some others. So read it with a grain of salt.
If the voters of the southern states are disappointed by the primary results, the general election is doomed. States like New York or California might sway the primary in such a fashion as to doom the general election.
“Some people around here hate Huckabee. I love him.”
The Huskster is an open borders nanny-stater. We’ve had plenty of that already with the Republicrat Uniparty.
My sentiments exactly!
“The GOP didnt unit around Ronald Reagan until Obama was elected. Prior to that even I remember Republicans talking smack about him and I wasnt even born when he was President!”
Nope. Thank you for playing.
I pulled the lever in 1980 for Reagan, my first presidential election as a voter. I never have since felt as good as that day voting for him. He straightened out a virtually dying country. I lived through the late 70’s with the idiot Carter at the helm.
Lots of moderates think they are conservative, hell, New Jersey conservatives think Chis Cristie is conservative.
If the hard headed Rinos push Bush or Romney thru to win the primary, they will deserve all the blame for supporting a candidate who can not possibly win an election...And they know it 2 years ahead of time...
How many failed elections will it take for your guys to realize that???
“2. If it is Bush 2016, and the hard-headed Conservatives refuse to vote for him, then we can blame them for whatever happens next. (How did not voting for Romney work for the nation?)”
And if conservatives yet again hold their noses and vote for Jebbie and he loses, then we’ll just have to blame another mealy-mouthed, wishy-washy, Establishment candidate who can’t win. It’s not like we haven’t tried it before (Bush I after he demonstrated he wasn’t on board with Reagan policies, Dole, McCain, Romney).
Shows ta go ya how the ‘merican public pays attention to their politics.
Agreed, this is hogwash, balderdash, poppycock, baloney, horse feathers and so on.
And probably TomFoolery in the details.
What’s notable about this poll is that the two “frontrunners”, arguably the two best known Republicans in the country and the clearcut establishment favorites can only muster a quarter of the GOP voters between them. Hardly a juggernaut.
Wat = Way lololol
All of the Above? lol
so much beneath them that we have a say in their jobs come election time.
Problem is that there are many out there who see the letter R or D and just vote for it instead of seeing where they stand.
I have my MA Mother in Law here who has no idea who she votes for but always sees that D.
Ask her if she is for illegals and amnesty, homosexual marriage, welfare just given out to people who don’t want to work , abortion etc etc then she is against it all but still votes D.
WellI changed my registration to No Pary Affiliation back in 2007. I did vote for Palin in 2008 ( not mclame I voted strictly for Palin) and in 2012 I voted Constituional Party because the lesser of evil ( Romney) is still evil and not much diff between him and Obama except not so obvious.
Out of the list they give in this poll I would only consider voting for Cruz I might consider Michelle Bachman I just wish someone known nationally like Palin would run independent with a huge amount of financial backing...hello Koch Brothers are you listening.
I am tired of the samo samo in the GOP.
But, since we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers I don’t see any change.
so the death spiral of the Grand old Republic continues

To them anyone to the right of an Anarchist is a “conservative.”
To us a “Conservative” is someone to the left of a reactionary, and to the right of a Moderate. Someone who not only can read, but has read the Constitution.
Honestly I thought it said “establishment pr***”
I had to read it like 3 times to get it right.
But I am not really so sure it wasn’t a typo.
And, yes, i am aslo sure he is a decent man.
They told me to cheer up, things could get worse.....so I cheered up and, and sure enough, things got worse!/s
