Just in. I am looking at a picture of the WTC with smoke pouring out of the western tower. Looks like a huge amount of damage. Debris raining down on people in the street.

When one looks at the current dnc fools, it is apparent that the 2004 election has but one abiding issue ... fighting terrorism with real bullets instead of Kerryesque hollow threats by voting in the Senate but eschewing the action be taken. God help US if the dnc ever gets back into power with the current crop of liberal fools and the clintonized party. Just think: the democrat voters actually believed Gore could have been an effective President! Nothing more need be offered as evidence that this nation is in deep peril.

When the Pentagon was hit, we lost freeper BKO, Barbara Olson, (Ted Olson's wife). May she rest in peace.

In Memoriam. Barbara Olson 1955-2001.

Barbara Olson was killed on September 11, 2001, when the airplane she had just boarded for Los Angeles was hijacked by terrorists and crashed into the Pentagon. Though invariably charming and gracious, Barbara was both passionate and courageous. She held strong opinions, and nobody who was in the same room with her ever had any doubt about what she believed. She did not apologize for what she thought or said, and she always spoke her mind articulately and clearly. Barbara Olson was a champion of freedom. And she was a champion of the rule of law--of the need to maintain a free and civil society by means of a well-defined body of law that protects the individual from government tyranny.

All of us at Regnery Publishing are deeply saddened by the loss of our author and friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with her husband, Solicitor General Ted Olson, and the thousands of other relatives and friends who have lost their loved ones in the terrorist attacks on our country.

Thanks for bumping. I will never forget that day for the rest of my life. How I woke up to the news on my alarm/radio. How I jumped into the shower knowing something bad had happened but not totally grasping it at that moment. How I decided to flip on the news real fast before heading out the door. How I could not stop watching the news even though I was already an hour late for work. How on the way to work I would unconciously lean forward and look up at the sky through my car windows. How everybody at work was quiet and walking around like zombies. I was a zombie too.

Not just seeing it, but experiencing it -- glass from the North tower on me and trying to outrun that awful debris cloud, as well as knowing that people I knew were literally dying right in front of me.

Watching replays later on TV in my office was surreal.
