Precious Moments Releases Limited-Edition Figurines Depicting Violent Conquest Of Canaan

CARTHAGE, MO—The popular line of cutesy Precious Moments figurines is getting a long-awaited addition with an upcoming “Conquest of Canaan” series of collectibles, sources confirmed Friday.

The figures will include iconic events from the momentous time in Israel’s history, including the circumcision of all Jewish males encamped at Gilgal, the slaughter of the wicked inhabitants of Jericho, and the stoning of the deceitful pillager Achan.

“We wanted to depict some of the bloody, violent bits of the Bible in an adorable way,” a Precious Moments representative said as she showed off a collectible set of the five corpses of the Amorite kings Joshua put to the sword and publicly hanged before the people. “These are perfect for decorating a nursery or play room.”

According to the representative, Precious Moments’ sculptors went to great lengths to capture the blood and gore in the scenes depicted.

“They weren’t used to working with so much blood,” she said. “We had to order a ton of different shades of red for the details and finish, but rest assured, you’re getting a product that accurately depicts some of the goriest scenes in the Scriptures.

Precious Moments further confirmed the company would be creating additional lines focused on the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, the beheading of John the Baptist, and the assassination of King Eglon.

.
Let’s not forget that Yeshua was born in “September,” on the day of Tabernacles, just as prophesied clearly in the scriptures.

Throw in some Hellenistic thought on the immortality of the soul, and follow it up with explanations that perish, destroy and death mean eternal life of torture, and the journey is near complete. Purgatory, really?

Yes, they had the day as well as the year Christ was born all wrong. But the emphasis converting pagan holidays to Christian was not on historical accuracy, and the “Winter Festival” as it was known in some places could not be moved to accommodate it.

" on the day of Tabernacles, just as prophesied clearly in the scriptures."

I am not in contradiction on that but could you direct me to this prophesy that I might be better informed. I am not one too old or obstinate to learn.

:-)

I'm one who doesn't have any problem with the conquest of Canaan. I think it would make a neat computer game.

(The rest of the thread reminds me why I don't post much in FR lately.)

How are things at the First Self-Righteous Church these days?

Made any children cry by mocking their Bible covers lately?

>>As the prophet said, “christians” have inherited lies in their theology.

Which prophet would that be?

Brother, my last post to you was uncharitable, and I withdraw it. I apologise.

Please understand the difference between an idol, and an image.

The commandment means: Do Not Worship Graven Images.

If you believe it means that you can’t make images, then you have a Christian duty to haunt YouTube and tell everyone off for posting cat videos.

You must also destroy the bust of Churchill that will soon be back in the WhiteHouse.

You must also destroy every family photo and portrait, burn your driving license and stop using photo ID for any purpose, including voting.

All of which would be stark lunacy.

Hope this was helpful.

QUOTE: "The commandment means: Do Not Worship Graven Images."

The commandment reads:

Exodus 20:4 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them..."

I concur with you on the images interpretation, for the Temple was filled with them at the direction of God, from Cherubim to almond flowers. However, to make an image of Mary, or the crucified Jesus, and bow down to it, regardless of intentions, is idolatry.

Now, one can reinterpret the command all one wants, but the scripture says "not bow down to them -OR- worship them".

I can take the name calling, just as Wycliffe or Tyndale or Luther.

Where does it say in the scriptures about Jesus being born at that time?
