Massive Volcano Near Naples Begins Rumbling
Catholic Culture ^ | 12/23/16

A volcanic field off the shore of Sicily, near Naples, has become active, scientists report.

The Campi Flegrei volcano is much larger than nearby Mt. Vesuvius, the volcano whose eruption destroyed the ancient city of Pompei. An eruption of this “supervolcano” could endanger much of Europe.

News of the volcanic activity was made public less than a week after the blood of St. Januarius failed to liquefy when displayed in the Naples cathedral. Sicilians have long believed that when the miracle of St. Januarius does not occur, disaster will follow for the people of Naples.

A supervolcano caused the largest eruption in European history. Now it’s stirring again. (Washington Post)

For all our technology, a Vesuvius-sized eruption would have pretty much the same result as Pompeii.

It isn’t that the Earth is “mad” at humans. It is she doesn’t KNOW or CARE about humans.

Oh no! This is bad. Been monitoring the ring of fire as well as volcanoes, this has me very worried. My gut is something bad soon! Combo L.A. big earthquake and Euro volcano. Lots of predictions, now!

The Blood Miracle of Saint Januarius did not occur this year. Usually a bad omen

Some of the occasions where the blood didn't liquefy in the last few decades were: 1980, when a terrible earthquake hit South Italy; 1973, when Naples suffered an outbreak of cholera; 1939, when World War II broke out; 1940, when Italy joined the War; 1943, when Italy was occupied by the Nazis. And throughout the centuries the absence of the astonishing phenomenon has been precedent to religious persecutions, eruptions of the Mount Vesuvius, earthquakes, revolutions, wars and the deaths of kings,

Just saying

Hmm. Is this one as scary-deadly (within a few millenia) as Yellowstone’s super volcano (within a few millenia)?

The whole of the Bay of Naples looks like a caldera to me. The whole place is rimmed with volcanos extinct and active.

Has anyone cut open any animals to see how the entrails lie?

I can think of at least a few million unwanted muslims laying about in Europe that might satisfy the volcano god’s voracious appetite for human beings, especially young, male, fighting age types? Hurry, start rounding them up.....

Probably about 1/10 of a Yellowstone. This ones last one was Tambora sized, equal in discharge to about 70 Mt St. Helens...

Just to add to the 'fun,' wikipedia claims: According to information Mario Scaramella twenty nuclear torpedo sea mines were alleged by the International Atomic Energy Agency to have been laid on 10 January 1970, by a Soviet November class attack submarine, in the Gulf of Naples in a time of war to destroy or deny access to the US Sixth Fleet; they are believed to still be on the seabed.
