The Stabat Mater is often sung with the Stations of the Cross. Selected verses — because there are so many.
I especially treasure the one:
At the cross her station keeping,
Don’t know the next line right now, but I know it ends in “weeping.”
At the cross her station keeping
Stood the mournful mother weeping
Close to Jesus to the last
Dvorak’s Stabat Mater is just exquisite.
Thanks for the full verse.
I love singing it with the Stations of the Cross during Lent.
