They forgot to tell the Mayor, Police Commissioner, and a Councilman that the shooter had been shot. Thirty minutes after the shooting, the three of them came out and gave the description of the shooter and the fact that he had escaped.

Someone's head is going to roll over this one since the shooter was shot right away and did not escape!

The average gun owner has a far better chance of a "good shooting" than the average cop.

That's probably true of the average gun owner in my town and in your town, but if we were to open the averages up to include any law abiding citizen in NYC, then I suspect the averages would go way, way down.

They are calling the dead shooter Clarence Askew. What happened to the weird name the guy had earlier in the thread? Obi Wan Kanobi or something like that? Was his other name muslim so they had to switch back to his given name? Anybody?

Curtis Sliwa from a radio station said on Sean Hannity's radio show that the shooter was
1. Davis' political opponent
2. Davis' guest

Neither Davis nor the shooter had to go through a metal detector because one was a councilman and the shooter was the councilman's desk.

Davis was carrying a gun [former police officer] and when the shooter started shooting at him, Davis pulled his gun and turned around and shot the shooter. Davis got two point blank shots to the chest. That is what I am sure he said.

I am confused with all the reports as to who the second death was. Did the shooter escape? I thought Curtis was saying the second death was the shooter, yet some are saying the shooter escaped.

Almost the same as with the shooter at that law school in Grundy, VA, a couple years ago. Had some of the students not had guns in their vehicles, that shooter would have killed more. The other students got their weapons and subdued the shooter.
