DISNEY/MIRAMAX CONTACT INFO! Financing Michael Moore's 2004 "Attack Film" on Bush is UNACCEPTABLE!

Michael Moore is trying to tie Bush to bin Laden! His film is scheduled to be released in 2004, in the middle of the campaign! And Disney's Miramax is reportedly financing this hit piece!

Of course we must boycott Disney and Miramax. But letters (hard copy ones, ones they have to hold in their hands and look at) are another effective way of getting the message out that America doesn't want Michael Moore's Bush-bashing films in their marketplace!!

Here are some contact numbers and street addresses to mail your letters to.

Please remember: the person who answers the phone may have NO IDEA what you're talking about...they're mainly receptionists and communication specialists who're trained to forward messages and calls. Don't abuse them. And don't abuse the reader(s) of your letters! But be firm and matter of fact--you do not think this decision is wise.

If you're a stockholder, maybe you'll want to sell your stock. If you're a parent, maybe you won't rush out to buy "Treasure Island" for your kid. (Not that you would anyway! ha ha) If you're a grandparent, maybe you won't take the grandkids to DisneyWorld after all. Whatever. Disney's tentacles are so long and reach so far I cannot imagine anyone not having some connection to the company. Even ABC is owned by Disney.

Remember: Disney's subsidiary MIRAMAX is financing the movie, so you can contact BOTH companies. The head of Miramax is a guy named Harvey Weinstein.

Here are the addresses and numbers...and here's to a good FREEPing!

The Walt Disney Company
500 South Buena Vista Street
Burbank, CA 91521
Phone: (818 ) 560-1000
Fax: (818 ) 560-1930

Harvey and Bob Weinstein
c/o Miramax Films
375 Greenwich St.
New York, NY 10013

Harvey and Bob Weinstein
c/o Miramax Films
11 Beach St
NY, NY 10013

Alternative Miramax addresses:

Miramax Films
99 Hudson St
New York, NY 10013-2815

Miramax Films
1995 Broadway
New York, NY 10023-5882

Phone numbers for Miramax Films:

I'm not sure if Disney was a socialist, but I know Albert Einstein was. http://www.scarybubs.com/einstein/socialism.html

True he lacks the intelligence of say an Ann Coulter, he was pretty good.

From what I understand, these so-called "links" are nothing out of the ordinary. They are business ties between corporations in Saudi Arabia (one owned by Osama's father) and those in the US. It shouldn't be too unusual that oil men in the US would have some dealings with those in the oil business in Saudi.

Unfortunately, people like Michael Moore form conclusions based on select resources while ignoring other pertenant facts. One of those facts being that Osama was long ago disowned by his own father and expelled from Saudi. I find it hard to believe that only Michael Moore could discover these illegalities while the liberal media could not...especially since they've been throwing everything else against the wall, hoping something would stick, so they could bring Bush down. Judging by Moore's previous efforts, I could no more find truth in his tale than I could in Clinton's denials.

Is this not still a democratic society??? It's a Republic.

Has freedom of speech been forgotten? Nope, apparently not! YOU'RE here, aren't you?

Just because you're a republican do you really believe no one person should disagree with you?Nope. But just because YOU'RE a democrat, does that give YOU the moral authority to make all the decisions?

Come on people, wake up! Most of the comments on this board sound like they are coming from COMMUNISTS!!! Don't resort to name calling now.

When we live in a society that bans people from making the films that they want to make, whether they are only based on partial facts or complete fiction, then we are no longer a democracy! No one is talking about banning. We're exercising OUR rights in a free society to not spend money there anymore. BIG difference.

Not every republican is a right wing, not every democrat is a liberal. I disagree.

And, YOUR way is NOT the only way! Grow up and stop worrying about what everyone else does, police your own actions for a change. Awwwwww, just smile every once in a while. It's good for you. And welcome to Free Repubic!!!!

Of course it's a free country. He's free to speak, they're free to produce his film, and I'm free to boycott them. A good old-fashioned shunning would do them some good on the road to reform.

OKAY, OKAY. Michael Moore can stretch the truth at times...

Spin it however you want.

It's funny that the right finds Disney to be despicable because they are to liberal AND the left finds Disney despicable because they are too conservative. In either case Disney IS succeeding in creating a homogenious American "consume at all costs" society that thrives on pap to placate them. They are, as are all multinational corporations, through their acquisitions, reducing the choices available to us in our lives. Maybe it is time for ALL Americans to join forces against the corporate hegemonists and take back our freedom of choice. Because that is what we should never have taken from us: our freedom to choose.

But wait - isn't that what you want to do with everyone YOU disagree with? You accuse Disney of Nazi propaganda, and you solution is jack-boot thug, brown shirt sabotage and YOUR version of propaganda. Remember, propaganda depends on who is saying it - it's truth if it's me - it's propaganda if it's the other guy. Perhaps, if you would stop listening to those embarssments to humanity and civil discourse; Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity, and Liddy you might actually hear the words of Christ, "Love one another." You remember him? Rable rouser, died for your sins?

And finally (oh, I doubt it)- Warren_Piece has it right. In THIS America you have a choice - Don't like it - don't buy it! No reason to go nuts - it's just basic FREE MARKET CAPITALISM. It IS America.

You are right - the most recent posts are not indicative of this site. Since 5/13 the diversity and the quality of discourse has vastly improved. There is lesss rabid, spittle-flying invective directed at REALITY by fantasy driven frustrated Dr. Strangeloves. It is good for the right to HEAR the left at this site JUST AS it is good for the left to hear the right at sites like The Nation or Mother Jones. We all need to chill and educate ourselves to realize that we as CITIZENS are not our own enemies.

Rather it is those with the POWER to take away our rights and our choices that are the enemy. We are ALL aggrieved parties and not by each other but by multinational corporations to whom we are but profit and by the select elite of this country to whom we are but cattle to be directed by focus groups and rigged polls to vote to their whims.

People, we ARE this country BUT we are NOT what is wrong with it! If we start to learn from each other and work with each other we may be able to take this country back FOR THE PEOPLE!

I meant no harm, please read all my words in those posts.

Another perspective:

Diogenes was reputed to have said, "I am a citizen of the world." He knew that the invitation to think as a WORLD citizen was, in a sense, an invitation to be an exile from the COMFORT of patriotism and it's easy sentiments, to see our own ways of life from the point of view of JUSTICE and THE GOOD. The accident of where one is born is just that, an accident, any human being might have been born in any nation.

Recognizing this, his Stoic successors, said we should not allow differences in nationality or class or ethnic membership or even gender to erect barriers between us and our fellow human beings. We should recognize humanity wherever it occurs and give its fundamental ingredients of reason and moral capacity our FIRST ALLEGIANCE and RESPECT

Or perhaps this perspective:

Remember any state has a primary enemy: its own population. If politics begins to break out inside your own coutry and the population starts getting active, all kinds of horrible things can happen (like real democracy) - so you have to keep the population quiescent and obedient and passive. And international conflict is one of the best ways of doing it: if there's an enemy around, people will abandon their rights, because the state needs to survive. So war is functional in that respect - it creates global tension and a mood of fear.

I direct these views not just to you but to all readers.

As for your question about a small part of a post - I referred to your post of 5/11/2003 6:15pm PDT number 9. Perhaps my words were too strong; I was trying to make a point. Sorry. This is unfortunately what happens too often when the emotions of the moment hijack the mind and the heart.

"I'm simply saying that I'm curious to see what more there could be to make it so fascinating for MM to make a movie on it. After all, there are tons of other topics he could have picked on - the War on Drugs for example. I like to learn about a variety of topics. Maybe I am a rare conservative..."

I understand your willingness to learn more about certain topics...we all are. But you indeed are a rare conservative if you want to learn by listening (or believeing) to what Micheal Moore has to say. There are plenty of websites that contradict everything Moore has put into his so-called documentaries. From Roger and Me through Bowling, Moore has done more than just shade the truth. So this idea that we're going to learn any more of the truth through Micheal Moore is ridiculous.

"There is plenty to connect Bin Laden to the US government in general though, especially throughout the 80's, so he might focus on that"

Yeah...and there's plenty to connect Stalin to the US government through the 40's...but you'll never see a movie about that.
