Americans can't stomach this 'woke' food brand, sales plunge

Beyond Meat, a plant-based meat substitute company, is struggling to sell its products as consumers are rejecting them as they consider plant-based meats “woke,” Bloomberg reported Monday.

Deloitte, a large consulting firm, found that consumers are no longer choosing to buy meat substitutes because they are considered far too “woke,” even among individuals that are looking to eat less red meat, according to Bloomberg. Sales of Beyond Meat’s burgers, sausages and other meat-substitute products are on the decline as the company’s stock has plummeted by 77% in 2022.

Beyond Meat claims that its plant-based products are healthier for both individuals and the environment, according to its website. International organizations like the UN as well as climate activists have urged individuals to stop eating red meat as they argue that beef farming produces a great deal of greenhouse gas emissions.

Deloitte also surveyed 2,000 consumers in July and found that fewer people now believe that vegan meat substitutes are healthier and more environmentally friendly than actual meat, Bloomberg reported.

Beyond Meat products are also more expensive than real meat which may be contributing to the company’s poor sales, according to Bloomberg. Consumers are currently facing high levels of food inflation and are increasingly unwilling to pay more for vegan meat at grocery stores.

Although sales of plant-based meat substitutes soared in 2020, purchases of all plant-based meat products decreased by 10.5% over a 52-week period that ended on Sept. 4.

Cracker Barrel, a southern-themed restaurant, faced a great deal of online backlash in August after it touted its new vegan sausage patties in a Facebook post.

Beyond Meat did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

You’re right of course. It’s a garbage product that tastes terrible and is priced too high.

Grass-fed beef or chopped up veggies with a bunch of chemicals, fake flavorings, and preservatives pressed together? I know which one I’m going for.

There is a woman that had a pretty big following for her internet commentary a few years ago...the Amazing Polly. Very smart. What she said about this meat substitute made my blood run cold. Big Brother has tried to disappear her, but if you look you can still find some of her you tubes.

These guys must be paying for shelf space at markets for their “Not Meat Jerky”.

I have, all of a sudden, seen them at eye level where you would typically find Pemmican.

I'm calling BS here.

During that year, when people were hoarding food and meat cases were bare, the fake meat sections were TEEMING with inventory. Even in the middle of TEOTWAWKI, people wouldn't eat this dreck.

Rice(especially brown unpolished rice) and beans(pintos and such) actually in combination offer the complete amino acid sequences in plant proteins needed by the human body. There is no other plant combo that offers such that doesn’t wreck the body with phyto-estrogens.

So we need meat which offers the whole of the complex of amino acids or we need to eat rices and bean combos.(Of course I prefer a great burger, chicken thigh, or beek steak with some lamb thrown in for my protein...but rice and beans with a bit of onion or salsa thrown in occaisionally would be fine to live on if I had nothing else).

Forget crickets....if push came to shove...roasted locusts and honey and I’ll sermonize against the globalists ‘till someone cuts my head off!

I do find that Impossible has a better taste — they say because they invested in something like real red meat flavor. I have tried Beyond Meat and it does not taste as good. But that said, meat is still my go to dish. I prefer it but I have no beef with those who want to eat non meat products.

With Impossible Foods out there they have something they can enjoy while following whatever else they follow.

Can we say that “Beyond Meat” is ‘dying on the vine’ ?????

I'd agree that is a pretty accurate statement.

Most folks are TIRED of SUBSTITUTES. Besides.. you CAN'T go Keto without MEAT.

"GIVE ME REAL MEAT!"

You can’t put rice and beans into a baby bottle. At least not easily. Babies are made to drink milk, not vegetables.

(By the way I couldn’t nurse because I am a guy. I have a degree in biology so I can tell. Thank goodness I didn’t go into law and become a Supreme Court Justice.)

The way I see it…if you want to be a vegetarian, go be a vegetarian. Eat your vegetables and whatever else you decide to eat. But why on Earth would you pimp fake meat? If you want something like meat, eat meat. If you want to be a vegetarian, be one. But trying to fake something, or make a replacement for meat is just silly and ridiculous.

They’re trying to force something on people that don’t want it. That is an inherently Leftist move.

It is my understanding that the term: 'vegetarian' is derived from ancient Sanskit, meaning:

Poor hunter

Maybe it’s just the free market in action.

Ever since we’ve tried Impossible Burger, that is our go-to meat alternative. Maybe people are buying Impossible Burger and not Beyond Meat?

Guess it’s a matter of taste. Oh, did I say that? If you’re happy with it, great.

The “woke” branding is now well understood by a majority of the population, and it has been rejected in every way. It’s time for the leftists to come up with a new term to describe the evil they support.
