Yeah, Trump's Dr. Oz Endorsement Probably Cost Us Pennsylvania and the Senate
PJ Media ^ | 08/18/2022 | Stephen Green

Dr. Mehmet Oz, who earned former President Donald Trump’s primary-race endorsement in April, is going down in flames according to a new GOP poll.

Republican-affiliated Public Opinion Strategies reports that surgeon-turned-TV-host Dr. Oz trails Democrat John Fetterman by nearly 20 points!

Trump gave Oz his “complete and total endorsement” before the wide-open GOP primary of six candidates, a move that probably sealed the deal with Pennsylvania Republicans.

The doc won in a squeaker, barely beating out second-place finisher David McCormick, 31.2% to 31.1%.

The former president praised Oz’s positions on abortion, crime, the Second Amendment, border security, the military, education, energy independence, and election fraud. Those are all well and good, but before lending an endorsement, someone in Trump’s position first needs to determine whether the recipient is at all likely to win the general election.

In Dr. Oz’s case, right now that’s a big, fat NO.

Let’s face it: He is not a good candidate.

After winning his primary, Oz went AWOL.

While Fetterman was literally incapacitated by a stroke, the doc failed to capitalize on a prime opportunity to define himself and his prone opponent:

Recent reporting suggests that Oz might not have taken advantage of those several weeks where Fetterman was sidelined, a significant span of time during a race that could be integral to party control of the Senate.

Puck is reporting that the former TV personality was in Palm Beach, Florida, until June 9 at least, not holding his first post-primary event until June 10. Oz reportedly also traveled to Ireland to visit family at the end of June and did not return until early July.

‘So glad you think that being older means one will be dead on the next six years.’

since the current life expectancy in the US across the board is 79.05 years, it’s a pretty solid bet that a 75 year old in the lowest life span group would be dead within six years...

A few years ago, I heard that Pennsylvania had the highest percentage of people living in the state who were born in the state. I don’t know if that’s true, but it can’t be easy for an outsider to break into statewide politics there. Being a celebrity can make it even harder. The Philadelphia area is strongly Democrat now, even in the suburbs, so Oz doesn’t have a base or a loyal following anywhere in the state.

Fetterman is a hard-core leftist and is simply a weird, off-putting dude. Also, he had a severe stroke and looks like hell. He can barely speak. He is physically and mentally unfit for the office. Rather than talking about polling and Oz’ shortcomings conservatives should be trashing Fetterman with gusto 24/7 until Election Day.

If a hard-core leftist, physically repellant and barely alive guy like Fetterman is a shoo-in, I fail to see how any Republican could have made a difference. Sounds like the state has turned bluer.

Builk of Republicans are not in Pa cities but rural areas. Phila and Pittsburgh are in a Demorat stronghold. Western Pa, outside of Pittsburgh, are much more conservative than Eastern Pa.

I’ve lived in both the East and West. Big difference in the people.

Should Fetterman die, he will never have voted so much in his life.

On August 2nd a poll conducted by Center Street PAC for the PA Senate race found the following undecided percentages among those polled:

20% of registered voters
19% of Republicans
14% of Democrats
37% of Unaffiliated voters

Big numbers for Unaffiliated voters...aka Independents.

That's why McConnell is leaving him to hang out to dry.

The more Democrats deplore, denigrate, hound, persecute and belittle Trump, the more I support him. As he’s explained it, he’s the only thing that’s between me (us) and evil Democrat leftists.

Both Uncle festus and Shapiro need to be linked to Wolf and the shut downs and crime. Contrast with what the legislature did on both counts. Killed the shutdowns and added help for Philly crime. Shapiro did nothing.

He IS DOWN BY 15!!! That is not within any margin of error that I’ve ever heard of!

That is because you believe this poll that is anti-Trump and anti-constitution.

Again, keep living in your own world with your own beliefs. There are other polls out there, including internal polls.

There’s a whole lot of BS opinions on here from people who have never been to PA, let alone central PA.

Exactly. They have no clue how Dr Azz is viewed by ordinary people in the "T" portion of the state.

If you listen to Oz, he says he is campaigning non-stop throughout the state. Said that last night on Hannity.

He's lying.

Hannity....pfffft!
