AP FACT CHECK: Biden skirts blame on inflation; GOP gas hype
AP ^ | Mar 15, 2022 | JOSH BOAK, CHRISTOPHER RUGABER and DAVID KOENIG

WASHINGTON (AP) — Facing political attacks over rising costs, President Joe Biden exaggerated his role in reducing the federal deficit and skirted responsibility by asserting that a flood of government spending into the economy has no impact at all on higher prices. It actually does.

Congressional Republicans, meanwhile, went too far in pinning blame for surging gasoline prices on Biden.....

THE FACTS: The Republican leaders of Congress are overstating Biden’s ability to influence energy prices and the impact of the canceled Keystone pipeline.

Gasoline prices have been rising in tandem with oil prices since spring 2020 because demand has grown faster than worldwide production as economies try to shake off the pandemic. More people are driving and flying, and businesses are returning to pre-pandemic levels of activity, leading to more energy consumption, which pushes prices higher.....

Asked whether the Keystone XL cancellation is the cause of high gas prices, Tom Kloza, analyst for the Oil Price Information Service, said: “A political talking point. Has nothing to do with 2022 price surge.”

The media is in full Biden protection mode. Oil prices, inflation, etc, are not Biden's fault.

A political talking point. Has nothing to do with 2022 price surge.

Maybe not in 2021, but in 2022 the Keystone XL pipeline would have become active. That means the shortages will be directly attributable to it for 2022 and beyond. Less and less people everyday believe this government and their lapdog press. If we have fair elections, the democrats will become a fringe party.

Nutshell: Good, Biden is responsible. Bad, it’s not Biden’s fault. Welcome to the modern media intellect.

If I recall, the pandemic started in spring 2020. People worked from home, businesses were shut down. So, saying demand went up in spring 2020 doesn’t make sense.

Anyone here at all, who thinks if the price of gasoline had
gone up this high under Trump, AP would be out there fact
checking to cover his ass?

The media in the U. S. has become nothing more than the
cheerleaders of this administration.

When there are too many dollars chasing too few good there is inflation. Not subject to talking points, denials, lies or the narrative.

President Joe Biden exaggerated his role in reducing the federal deficit

I certainly don't remember hearing about any deficit reduction. I certainly do remember spending trillions of dollars that we don't have. Willing to be corrected.

As far as the press covering for Biden, see Tagline.

the AP has ensconced itself into Biden’s alimentary canal, it resembles that little fish that embeds itself into a larger fish’s gills, and will expire when the host fish expires.

when the AP ‘awokened’ their manual of manuscript style, they lost their credibility.

AP doesn’t know jacksh*t about oil and gas. In fact, they don’t jack about much of anything except how to lie and be convincing.

I am totally willing to test that theory by putting the bad orange man back in office along with a radically conservative house and senate for two years. If the economy and the world is not drastically better in two years, I will publicly eat ten lbs of rotting crow on live television. Also during that two years, the media is allowed to only dispassionately report facts be them good or bad, no non stop screeching and hyperbole

Once again the ASS PRESS has crapped in it’s diaper!

Oil prices are a DIRECT RESULT OF BIDENS “GREEN POLICIES”!

Fuel prices follow oil prices, you would think that somebody at the ASS PRESS would understand that.
