A 39-year-old Utah man is now facing multiple charges after a college student who was missing for five days was found naked and covered in coal inside his home, reports say.
Brent Brown, of Loa, has been charged with aggravated kidnapping, rape, object rape and obstruction of justice following the discovery of a Snow College student on Saturday, according to Fox 13. He is now being held without bail.
The saga involving the student began on the night of Dec. 13, when she was last seen leaving her dorm building in Ephraim. The next day, her roommates reported her missing when she failed to return, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.
The newspaper, citing a probable cause affidavit, reported that the student met Brown in an online "chat group" and arranged to have him pick her up on Dec. 13 – but in the following days the relationship became nonconsensual and violent.
Brown allegedly tied the victim up while he was at work, got rid of her phone when he learned police were looking for her, and "threatened her, saying if she left or told anyone about him, he would come after her family and sister," the Salt Lake Tribune reported, citing the affidavit.
Court documents later stated that police used cellphone tower information to track down the victim at Brown’s home in Loa, about an hour and a half’s drive from where she had last been seen, the newspaper continued.
The student was found naked and covered with coal in a basement room after Brown – who answered the door at the home when police knocked – initially told officers that nobody else was inside, the affidavit added.

I wonder which news media he worked for.
Romney voter.
This kind of case doesn’t usually end up that well for the kidnaped. She should thank God and actual detectives doing real detective work.
The girl’s name is public information. Another Fox affiliate is posting the complete story here:

A detail from that story has me wondering:
“Allen was found naked and covered with coal”
Are people still using coal to heat their homes? Really?
CNN producer.
Here is his picture https://heavy.com/news/brent-brown/amp/ and hers sadly her name is out there since she was missing. I hope she can find some peace ASAP.
Fortunately this happened in a jurisdiction where this creep will be prosecuted. Imagine if this was New York, San Francisco or LA!
At least in Utah they can keep nuts like this locked up without bail.
CNN
One can only shake one's head.
“object rape”
Good gosh the world is full of evil people. SMH
Maybe not quite Fauci vs puppy level of cruelty, but certainly very horrible. Prayers for the victim as she has tries to recover from it.

It was also a case of her parents making sure the media knew about their missing daughter. The police initially refused to investigate because she’s an adult and they don’t care to get involved when it’s an adult who goes missing. The father in particular went against the police who told him not to make a fuss and instead forced their hand by making the girl’s disappearance a media obsession.
She’s lucky to have loving and determined parents fighting for her.
Now wonder at how many young women go missing and how TPTB don’t want to make a fuss about it.
Then consider why Epstein got away with his crimes for decades.
And why the media is trying to get people to STFU about young people getting trafficked and exploited.
Yes, really.
A Cuomo relative?
Per the story, apparently the girl was able to flee while the perp was at work but chose not to, saying she feared for her family.
Clear thinking would have negated that threat but we must assume the girl was traumatized so she did nothing.
The poor girl...I hope she can recover from this terrible thing.
There are lunatics walking among us..
Had to read a bit into the story before it was made clear that the victim was female. Thought that would be one of the first items brought out in the story.
If she was involved in a bondage chat group, what did she expect?
