The Department of Homeland Security issued a national terrorism alert warning that violent domestic extremists could attack in the coming weeks, emboldened by the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
DHS, in an alert issued Wednesday, said violent extremists opposed to the government and the presidential transition “could continue to mobilize to incite or commit violence,” though the department said it doesn’t have evidence of a specific plot.
The DHS release was part of a public alert called a National Terrorism Advisory System bulletin.
The alert is the department’s first in about a year. The last such bulletin from DHS came in January 2020, warning about Iran’s potential to carry out cyberattacks. DHS notably didn’t issue an alert ahead of the Jan. 6 planned rally in Washington, D.C. that devolved into a mob siege at the Capitol, despite public chatter online that extremists planned to do so.

Someone needs to find pix from the “riot” of them walking between crowd control lines, sleeping in front of the (untouched) paintings in the rotunda, taking photos with the (untouched) statues, and the few ambling around the house chamber, etc. carrying lots of (non-burning) US flags.

There was no DHS. DHS is the wonderful extra agency gained in the name of 9/11.
This is one more reason that Trump is no longer president: He would not fight the Deep State and the Left with every weapon at his disposal. Trump truly believed if he did the right thing, he would be reelected. Childishly, he assumed that his enemies would never go as far as they did including murder, coordinating with China and other Communist countries, hacking our election from overseas, bribery and blackmail.
Conservatives and Republicans cannot be so naive in the future. We must assume that EVERY well ensconced FedGov employee is an enemy and must be removed if possible. The removal and replacement of every possible DOJ, FBI, CIA employee is critical.
How can any future president fight the monstrosity our FedGov has become if his enemies are allowed to continue working the levers of power?
At the risk of sounding like a keyboard commando, I'm getting old, I am disabled, I know Jesus, and I am not afraid of dying. They may throw my carcass on a burn pile when I'm done, but I won't be going into a camp.
I remember the warnings. But at that time, at least for myself, I still kind of trusted my government.
