Kyle Rittenhouse, a 17-year-old suspected of fatally shooting at least two people and injuring another during protests in Kenosha over the shooting of Jacob Blake, has been arrested, according to local media reports.
Rittenhouse, 17, was arrested in Illinois and has been reportedly charged with first-degree intentional homicide.
Ok. Just pinging this thread so I can return to it later when the facts get sorted out.
But I would like to make this statement. I wish, as I originally believed, the shooter was an adult, local resident who was defending his neighborhood from terrorism. But for you to deny that the left doesn't manipulate young skulls full of mush, especially those who are marginalized, to further their agenda is pretty naive.
From the very beginning - the Columbine shootings, through Sandy Hook, Parkland, Texas Wal-mart, the kid who was charged with running down the woman in Charlottesville, - the perps have consistently been marginalized young men, most likely "on the spectrum" and on the drugs used to control them which makes them easily manipulated.
I know at some point we may have to take matters into our own hands. But let's just make sure they really ARE in OUR hands. That's all.

The fact that he was there illegally is a big problem. Hopefully he had an FOID in Illinois, or he was possessing illegally there to. I suspect a lot will depend on just what he was doing prior to the chase. To me his later actions were clearly self defense, but if he contributed to the confrontation that led to the chase, self defense as a defense likely goes out the window. As I noted in another post, seems to me everyone chasing him could be charged as well. They were complicit in the actions which led to the killings. Should be the same charges.

This guy was being chased down the street by an armed mob, fell down and was feloniously battered with a skateboard, and by someone falsely wearing a hat "Paramedic" while carrying Glock, who tried to take his rifle away, and defended himself. Oh btw -- the Glock dude, with half his bicep missing?

So the guy who defended himself is all of 17 -- and is being charged as an adult with premeditated murder.

Yeah. I’d sure be interested to see why that first guy was chasing him. My understanding is that he was part of a group that had agreed to protect local businesses. Since he came running back to the parking lot that he was apparently supposed to be guarding it sure looks like he managed to get distracted, or otherwise involved with things not related to guarding that lot.
Strange that Wi has no minimum age for handgun possession.

My guess his parents get to worry about the civil liability since he couldn't purchase the rifle legally.

I suspect it wasn’t long before he contacted his police friends given his association.
I do have a slight discomfort about this as I wonder if he was mature enough to handle this highly charged environment with all the loonies there. Doesn’t appear when I’ve seen some of these militia folks there’s any real plan or cohesiveness. A 17 yr old would need that.
