It’s 18 for any firearm, rifle or handgun, WI doesn’t distinguish. Unless legally hunting. Then it’s 14, 12 if with an adult.

Under federal law it is a felony for anyone under 18 to possess a handgun. 18 USC 921. The federal Gun Control Act of 1968.
