Print this article Former CIA Director John Brennan appears to have dodged prosecution in U.S. Attorney John Durham's criminal inquiry into the Russia investigation.
After NBC News reported Thursday that Brennan agreed to do an interview with Durham, signaling that his investigation is nearing its end, a lawyer familiar with the situation told NPR that the Obama-era CIA director has been told he is not a target of prosecutors. Instead, this source said, the interview will mainly consist of technical questions.
The news is sure to disappoint some of President Trump's most ardent supporters who believe Brennan and other top officials in the Obama administration sought to sabotage Trump's candidacy in 2016 and later his presidency.
Still, while Brennan may escape an indictment, he may yet be harshly criticized in a report. Attorney General William Barr said he expects "developments" from Durham's inquiry by the end of the summer.
Its hard to prove criminal intent at their level, and unless theres a smoking gun, like an email or text, theyll probably get off with a damning report about their activities," former Assistant FBI Director Chris Swecker, who claims to know Durham personally, told RealClearInvestigations in reference to Brennan and other top intelligence community and law enforcement officials from the Obama administration.
Durham has reportedly scrutinized Brennan's emails, call logs, and other records from the CIA as his team looked into the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment on Russian election interference, whether there was an effort to hide information from other agencies, British ex-spy Christopher Steeles flawed anti-Trump dossier, and other issues.
Democrats, some Justice Department veterans, and legal experts have raised concerns about the public release of Durham's findings or indictments less than 90 days from the election. Under questioning last week by Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, a Florida Democrat, Barr refused to commit under oath to not releasing a report before the November contest and pledged it would not "disrupt" the election.
Timing is also a mounting concern for the president's allies who fear the federal prosecutor's work will get buried should former Vice President Joe Biden defeat Trump.
Brennan, who has traded barbs with Trump over the past couple years, found out he had been blocked from accessing his classified notes and records while working on his forthcoming memoir.
There can never be an outsider GOP candidate again, as they will get away with what they did to this one.
Love when they make determinations on the innocence of criminals who should have been in jail from the get go
Who didn’t see that coming? Beside the vision impaired.
If there are any indictments then they’ll be middle ranking people who nobody ever heard of.
“Penitentiary Face” Brennan
I’m treating it like fake news...another anonymous source pushing a meme...
He is probably classified as a subject. A subject is someone who may either end up a witness or a target. The upcoming interview is part of the process the feds use. If he were a target his attorney would not not let the interview happen.

“the Obama-era CIA director has been told he is not a target of prosecutors. Instead, this source said, the interview will mainly consist of technical questions.”
Oh, that old gambit? You can bet Brennan is well lawyered up and answering every question with “I don’t remember”.
“Can the Durham investigation take a former CIA Director out?”
Strange question. Mueller and his gang did not hold back from believing an investigation could take out a sitting president. Or adam schiff and his bunch of corrupt thugs believed their investigations could take out a sitting president.
Don’t believe anything about this until you hear it from Barr or Durham.
The Republicrats would have never approved Barr otherwise
Well written news articles contain facts, named sources, eye witness accounts and tell you up front in the first three paragraphs the following: "Who", "What", "When", "Where, "How" and very rarely "Why", as the latter is usually opinion. (Or at least that is what I learned in a journalism course some 40 years ago.)
AND THIS Obama surrounded himself with a decrepit bunch that were afflicted w/ the self-same malignant thought process as his.
ITEM-—CITIZEN FREE PRESS: Italy flips on Brennan, fires 6 Intelligence directors. Members of Italian intelligence were approached by Hillary Clinton, the Obama Administration, and the Deep State to frame trump by PLANTING EVIDENCE on American servers to force Trump to step down from office.
ITEM-—(hat tip bagster-— Neon Revolt article)..... members of Italian intelligence found a target in a Rome-based Republican-sympathizer who had two servers for his company, Westland Securities, located in America. One was in Washington State, and the other in West Virginia. The plan was for Italian Intelligence to hack into these servers, plant classified emails from Hillarys servers inside these servers on American soil, and then alert the FBI.The FBI would then raid these locations, discover these e-mails, investigate, link these servers to Trump And then force Trump to resign. And if the Italian Intelligence actually has ACTUAL classified e-mails from Hillary Clinton, thats another crime in-and-of itself. This is like a bad cop planting bad evidence to fabricate a crime.
Brennan, a fiercely loyal Obama appointee, talked up the dossier to Democratic leaders, as well as the press, during the 2016 campaign and fed allegations about Trump-Russia contacts directly to the FBI, while pressuring the bureau to conduct an investigation of several Trump campaign figures.

SpyGate Shake-Up: Prime Minister of Italy Fires Top Officials from Italian Intel Agencies
By Debra Heine May 17, 2019 3:14 AM EST
In a surprise move Wednesday, Giuseppe Conte, the prime minister of Italy, fired the top management of three Italian intelligence agencies.
The move is being seen as the Conte governments response to the previous governments coordinated surveillance activity with U.S. intelligence officials during the 2016 U.S. election.
Il Giornale reported:
As revealed by La Repubblica , the Conte government has requested that four deputy directors two from the Information Security Department (Dis), one from the External Security Information Agency (AISE) and the other from the Internal Security Information Agency (Aisi) voluntarily resign.
In fact, underlines La Repubblica , a complete reset, excluding the directors two of whom have already been appointed by this government of the entire top-level framework of our Services.
There are six, in total, free seats at the top of the Services that the majority must have been parting for some time: in fact, in addition to the four who resigned, there is the vacant one in Aise after the appointment of Luciano Carta at the top of the Agency and that of Vincenzo Delle Femmine, deputy director of the Aisi retired from June.
The shake-up comes as SpyGate (known in Italy as ItalyGate) heats up with new developments breaking almost every day.
Good.
He has escaped prosecution.
That means he is scheduled for a Potomac canoe trip.
That news should outrage every American.
They are just getting it out there so you will get used to it before you find out it was a a joke and big waste.
Not.
Exist.
