I fear that there is a looming civil war on the horizon. It is not yet inevitable, but all true American patriots must be prepared for the coming battle. And the costs in blood will be heavy. This war will not be fought like the American Revolution or the Civil War of 1861-65, where disciplined armies observed the laws of war and respected civilian lives.
This war will be waged by far-left radicals and their deep-state puppet masters. For them, civilian casualties and massacres will not be moral evils, but merely part and parcel of their larger plan to reconstruct America. Their objective is simple: overthrow our constitutional order, destroy our way of life, and deprive us of our freedom, our liberties, our property, and our honor.
I have spent many years in countries that have suffered civil war and its horrors, such as Russia (including Chechnya), Syria, Lebanon, Croatia, Bosnia, and Kosovo. I have also carefully studied the history of revolutions and civil conflict. And until recently I would never have believed a second civil war in America to be possible. But the warning signs are all there, and they began appearing most visibly when Donald Trump became the Republican nominee for president. He is the first American politician that strikes fear into the hearts of both the deep state and the radical left. And that fear makes them extremely dangerous.
The Bolshevik October Revolution of 1917 was carried out by a mere few thousand party members in St. Petersburg. And it was sudden and unexpected, the Bolshevik Central Committee made the decision to launch a coup detat only hours before its execution. In fact, as late as July 1917 Lenin himself did not expect a communist revolution in his lifetime. The Russian Civil War that followed is a horrifying story of savage carnage and obscene violence.
In similar fashion, I believe one likely spark for the Second American Civil War will be the result of a coup detat carried out by anti-America extremists. It will catch most Americans by surprise. The coup plotters will act quickly to seize the critical levers of power, before any opposition has a chance to react. And they will be aided and abetted by the kinds of people Lenin referred to, contemptuously, as useful idiots.
The shock troops will come from the ranks of Antifa and radical anti-white elements of the Black Lives Matter movement. These fascist stormtroopers will be augmented by the even larger numbers of veterans of Occupy and other far-left movements. And jihadists from across the globe will flock to support this coup. But the real power will be behind the scenes, in the hands of the bureaucrats of the American deep state, who will see such a far-left coup as their best chance to preserve and expand their far-reaching powers, but which President Trump threatens.
Much of the mainstream media will initially be warmly supportive. A few so-called conservatives at The New York Times may meekly protest that while the ends of the revolution are laudable, perhaps the means are a bit too messy. But most of the liberal media will fall into lockstep, in the belief that as long as they are supportive, the coup leaders will allow them to stay in business. Many Americans will believe their pro-coup propaganda and quietly submit, or at least refrain from overt resistance.
The faculties at Harvard, Yale, and Princeton will pass resolutions of fervent support, and their brainwashed students will rush to enlist in the revolution before all the excitement passes. Likewise, left-leaning foundations and oligarchs will promise financial support. And the Federal Reserve will flood the economy with debased currency.
Not all Democrat politicians will turn traitor, but there will be some prominent establishment statesmen who will betray our country. They will naively believe that they will be able to control the revolution and turn it to their own purposes. When their fig leaf of respectability is no longer required, they will get the fate they deserve. But their role will be critical, to give coup leaders the guise of continuity of government while they seize the critical levers of power.
Americas external enemies will not sit by idly. The new revolutionary government will offer generous terms in return for foreign assistance (meaning secret police), and troops if necessary. Expect a Treaty of San Antonio whereby Mexico recovers her historic territories of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and southern California. Russia will expect a return of Alaska (and its oil) to the Motherland. China and the European Union will demand we surrender our economic sovereignty and become vassals of Beijing and Brussels. And, of course, the United Nations will offer to send in the blue helmets to restore civil order. North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, and Iran will all also want in on the spoils in return for technical support.
And what will be the agenda of this regime? The first priority is obvious: the confiscation of all privately owned guns. An armed citizenry ready and prepared to defend its rights would be an intolerable threat to the regime. The next logical step would be identifying any and all possible sources of opposition and interning them and their families in re-education camps. The third priority will be a radical redistribution of property. It would destroy the American free-enterprise economy, but short-term it would guarantee the loyal support of all those hoping for a share of the spoils.
I do not wish to be alarmist. But what I describe here is a plausible scenario. And have no doubt, our nations enemies are resolute and determined. The continued existence of our great country, the United States of America, will depend on the bravery, strength, resourcefulness, and patriotism of her most loyal citizens. We must stand prepared for all possible threats.
May God bless and protect America.
It is now, thus the slippery slope to confiscation.
A second civil war in the US would last for decades and possibly centuries................
Well said, and logical. There is no other way for this current situation to go, given that the left will not yield and our Democrats essentially side with them. We must sooner or later make our socialist leaders fear for their homes and families as much as we fear. If the left makes a hit, we WILL make a hit - twice.
Sad, but true. This will end only when their hurt is much greater than our hurt. It’s called war.
Why is Soros still alive?
Probably very nearly correct. The mess in Portland is beginning to be troubling. It has gone on too long, local leadership is supporting it and if they break through the Federal lines, all hell is going to break loose all over the country. The main line is Portland, Oregon. THAT must be stopped no matter what.
The Civil War is here. It is happening now. It is people losing their jobs because of something they posted online in 2014. It is riots and looting. It is Nancy Pelosi literally threatening the President. The fact that the author doesn’t recognize the war is happening now tells us how ineffective the insurrectionists have been.
We will survive this. Eventually, the parents of the uncivil warriors will kick them out of their basements and force them to get jobs. One sign liberals are losing was posted here today. Red Bull fired their diversity and inclusion staff. (The “diversity” program at my last two jobs was the most threatened I have ever felt in the workplace. If I didn’t suspect it would kill me I’d start using Red Bull products.)
The problem, as I see it, is that local law enforcement has had a tendency to support and assist urban rioters and has a tendency to throw the book at Normal people who want to engage in self-defense and protect their property.
The whole situation changes quickly if that reverses.
If Normal people are given wide latitude to protect themselves and their property, then even the urban areas can be pacified quickly.
All we really need would be federal troops “explaining” the situation to local law enforcement. Just stand down. Let the militia do the work. In times of trouble, Normal people can police themselves.
It will look like Kosovo and Serbia. armies will surround areas, snipers will shoot anyone on the streets. Independent gangs will rape and pillage at will, murder will be for fun and revenge. You won’t sleep at night and someone else will have to watch over you during the day.. Lead will be more valuable than gold, and it will be the new currency. You’ll sell your wife for 2 cans of beans...
The large cities would be destroyed first like they are now then occupied by gangs. Rural areas would have groups to protect their crops, food and resourced.
I completely agree. Have been thinking of ways...
Law enforcement and the courts will be on the sidelines and out of the way while people with grudges and payback WILL go after their adversaries whether they be their neighbors, their HOA/POA, journalists, lawyers, or pols.
No one wants a Civil War and thousands will perish before one officially kicks off.
Of course our side would certainly have the advantage from the logistics perspective as we control the vast majority of the nations food and energy production. We could essentially cut food shipments and power to the cities and then sit back and wait.
This all seems a little short sighted. Sorry for skimming, but I’d imagine something like the fall of Yugoslavia, with all the trappings, including the fact that there may well be more than two sides, factions, or parties involved, and also lots of claims for all sides of war crimes, and combinations of organized war, asymetric and guerilla war, and soooooo much innocent and civilian death and destruction caught all in the middle. So please pray that this is nothing more than a thought exercise. Groups hiding the the hills, the taking of cities, and also, like that scenario in the 90s with Kosovo, serbia and croatia, lots of outside intervention. U.N. boots on the ground, and many powers in the world (old and new) sooo very happy to see the collapse and as crazy as rabid dogs to get in for a piece of the action, all for the sake of ‘peace and restoring stability’ of course. wink/nudge heh
I don’t know how and who will control the military, and where it will land, but even if we don’t have outside air power over our skies, I would definitely not be suprised to see a lot of air drops of supplies and aid, and perhaps secretly even weapons, and I am sure you would have cities and regions under seige, at least for certain periods of time. Ugly ugly business. You don’t want this.
Or we will have Rwanda.
This is a people who masks themselves and hides in their homes from a virus with a 99.9% survival rate. Do you honestly think that these cowards will fight for anything?
In CWI, there were a clear demarcation of states that could join forces to create a new country, and a willingness by both the population and the state governments to separate and create their own central government.
In CWII, all 50 states have factions from both sides, but no state governments willing to break away from the United States to create their own country.
So CWII won't be a civil war, it will be an asymmetric gorilla war.
Decades only in the same sense that our first civil war lasted that long with post-war friction. The actual widespread shooting would last from 5-8 years. Millions of decent people will die in that war, along with tens of millions of socialists and their allies/sympathizers. I hope we can avoid it, but that civil war is far more likely now than it seemed just a year ago. It could start as early as the window between Election Day and Inauguration Day.
An armed citizenry ready and prepared to defend its rights would be an intolerable threat to the regime.
It is now, thus the slippery slope to confiscation.

I think theres merit to both statements.
Indeed,if the citizenry remains armed the Left has zero chance of taking over. Much of Antifa and other rioters and lootersconsists of white, elite college students. At the moment theyre having a jolly good time. However, if the shooting should start these spoiled idiot will run for home in a New York minute. Theyve got no stomach for a firefight.
