I get SS every month so don’t get me wrong but...
Why do they think they need to help break the bank to give seniors extra money besides their regular checks? They truly are trying to destroy this great economy is all I can think.
So if woking and get SS,still get free money.......???

In 2008, SS folks had to file. But the text of the stimulus package said the SS folks didn’t have to file. I believe the screw up was some doofus at the IRS......not Mnuchin.

My apologize for those that earned their SS.
They are putting liquidity in the hands of Seniors to help
spur the economy.
Extra money will be spent, and that supports business and
jobs.
You’ve got a valid point too.
Apparently you have money besides SS...but not everyone does.
That money will pay things I normally would pay, like property taxes and home owners insurance.
Those who do not file have not the minimum income to pay any tax.

Cuz SS is not taxable income....though some may be if you’re still working.
In 2008 it was a frickin mess. That’s why they changed the law.
But the IRS ignored the law in their early releases. Glad they cleared it up.
Cause under the min incine req to file.
I do too. But since we do file a tax return I suppose that means my check will be automatically sent. I wonder too if these checks are subject to garnishment orders.
Spend all the treasury now? Then just print more????
