Republican Utah Sen. Mike Lee will try again to pass his S.386 bill, which grants green cards to Indias college graduates if they take jobs from American graduates. I believe its ready for prime time, Mike Lee said in a June 19 statement on the Senate floor, adding: It is ready to become law
I intend to be back next week making yet another attempt to pass this bill into law. And I hope and expect that we will be able to do so. Leon Fresco, a Democrat lawyer working with Lee to pass the bill, also declared the bill will pass the Senate:

Jordan is a real good guy but let’s not forget David Nunes and Dan Crenshaw.
“I wonder where the freeper favorite Ted Cruz will come down on this bill?”
Every Republican Senator supports this bill, and it will pass via voice vote.
I doubt Rand Paul does, he’s blocked it the first time. Paul is one of the good guys in the Senate.
” Paul is one of the good guys in the Senate.”
He may block the voice vote, but he’ll likely be absent for the roll call.
They all three voted for this bill in the House. Louie Gohmert is the only honest Rep in the House.
Crenshaw is pro-gun control. A huge disappointment.
Just like Americans in IT, Indians in IT vary from very competent to very incompetent. I have often posted that the Indians who wrote the Georgia voter registration system are the most incompetent IT workers I have ever worked with. They were also ignorant of election law and custom.
I worked beside some Indians at State Farm 7 to 16 years ago, and at Motorola in the 1980s who were extremely competent. Of course, State Farm had so many of them that some were bound to be brilliant.
I have had the consulting task of training Indians to take life insurance jobs from Indiana back to India. Those young guys were equivalent to Jr College guys who were smart and eager to learn, but had not yet learned much about IT (COBOL, JCL).
Indians and Americans, and Canadians and Martians all vary in skill, in work habits.
I call them lots of ##$#ing things.
Thank you for the elucidation.
Do you know why your company cannot find competent IT workers resulting in project collapse??
This is straight from the horses mouth. I have an IT Masters degree with a 4.0 GPA and experience. I know 30 plus software languages and I lead software teams.
People like me have smartly left long ago to better pay off a house. It is the smartest change in my life. It worked.
If I had stayed in software, I would have been homeless, and unemployed trying to compete with foreign Indians at 1/3 the income.
After training our Indian replacements, also called Replacement Migration, I never went back.
In economics, it is called unintended, perverse consequences. If you trade with slaves, you must become a slave. You can be the best cotton harvester, but if you compete directly with legalized slaves, you must also wear chains.
Leading a team of Indian migrant H-1B workers (aka slaves), is the nearly only way to survive commercial software development as an occupation. But Indians are tribal, and it may be short lived.
There can be exceptions, such as a part time hobby, but software is a poor way to pay off a mortgage. Software is a project institution. The work is good temporary money, but like a plumbing project, it ends quickly, while the mortgage remains.
The only real full time software occupations are in government or defense, not commercial.
I and others, would only do software as part time work. It is awesome as temporary, part time work. But software is no long term career.
Tell your children to walkaway from STEM careers. You compete at 1/3 the salary, with fake skills on fake resumes, seeking fake jobs, only written to satisfy government paperwork to hire Indian foreigners, learned at fake but well known Universities.
3/4ths of Silicon Valley workers are foreigners with few societal rights and fewer family rights. Is that what you want for your children when they can simply be a stable automobile mechanic?
The cheap labor, Republican Chamber of Commerce is addicted to foreign labor. Like all addictions, it is regressive.
And if you still doubt what I am saying, just look at the foreigner Visa artifact.
Congress and the cheap labor, Chamber of Commerce, who created the mess, are still tweaking foreigner Visas to allow for chain migration of Indian labor, to bring over more family members, like spouses.
It is an admission that worker Visas are ANTI-FAMILY.
The Software Industry is Anti Family. They hate families.
Instead, just legalize everybody. But then you are back to a normal society, with normal laws. And the perverse incentive is back to unlawful labor.
The same thing is happening around the country in the technological fields.
Bear in mind no one here is knocking anyone's skills or ethnicity in any manner, shape or form. Indians are for the most part exceedingly excellent at what they do.
We are talking strictly about employment for American workers.....and skilled-job openings increasingly being filled by huge numbers of legally-imported workers from abroad.
The average income of doctors (and some connected specialists such as anesthesiologists) in this country is $180,000 - $235,600....every 12 months ! Many make much more than that depending on location.
The American technology field ALSO employs vast numbers of Indians nationals and other foreign imports for jobs with well-paying salaries, benefits and bonuses.
A couple of years ago, a friend of mine was let go along with two other computer-specialist co-workers because of their Florida company's change of direction. Not only were they replaced by Indians, but for their final two weeks on the job they had to suffer the indignity of "preliminary-training" via computer their replacements who were still in India.....and who were going to do my friend's and his co-workers jobs from INDIA itself !
I consider it treasonable for our American corporations, companies, Senators and House members to support in any manner the importation of foreign labor to supplant our American workers at any level unless it's a matter of national emergency.

COBOL was a great language, way ahead of it time. I never had a job where I used COBOL just took it in college. It was not until I started writing C code that I realized just how advanced COBOL was. I loved C, C++ not so much. Strong typing is for weak minds, LOL. Java is pretty cool, it is now my main language.
Hopefully President Trump will blast this bill out of the water. It begs the question, what is in it for Senator Lee? Who is lining his pocket on this one...no American Patriot would support this treasonous bill.
If it passes the Senate, need to deluge the White House will calls and emails on this issue...
*(GOP and DEM as there are actually more GOP supporting)
What’s in it for Lee? Follow the money! Lots of it pouring into his campaign coffers and the state of Utah...BOTH GOOGLE AND FACEBOOK are putting in data centers in UT, and as someone else said yesterday, there may be an LDS angle to this as well...
Heres your answer as to what is in it for Mike Lee;

Of course they do. And increasingly the Philippines and Eastern Europe and Latin America and...
If one raises the salary offers high enough, usually there will be more American applicants.
Now in my company, we have a really hard time getting engineers from north America to do the job we do. And we pay very well. Lot of people here, it seems, simply do not want to travel for work. But we are in a fairly small and limited niche.
Beg to differ. Are you sure you or your agent was offering market rate? American market rate?
You pay and they will come, that is business.
sell out
Agreed
