I’m not sure if any of us understand the reality here. I’ve not read any posts as yet, that try to explain what’s going on here.
Maybe I don’t either, but when these students come to our country to go to school, they complete their studies, and then are expected to return to their homelands. Many, talented scientists among them, wish to stay and work here in the USA, but they can’t.
Giving them the option of staying thru a green card program assures that the best people may, in time becoming Americans.
IN SHORT, I THINK THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A GOOD THING, THAT HELPS OUR COUNTRY. IT RAISES THE BAR FOR OUR OWN STUDENTS AND WORKERS.
It is certainly better than bringing people in via a lottery or the chain migration thingy.
If they have a Green Card they can bring their entire family.
No Rand Paul wanted to quadruple the number of H1-B Visas. He got a carve out for nurses meaning 5K H1-Visas for nurses over the next ten years.

Lee has spent waaay too much time hanging around with Mitt Romney. He’s gone from maybe the most staunchly Constitution-focused senator to a Mitt Romney wannabe. Methinks someone is calling in favors for campaign financing...

Hell, most of Seattle is an Indian cesspool. Indian Population went from less than 1% a few years ago to above 40% today.
The local paper is so thrilled Microsoft is tearing up baseball fields and replacing them with cricket pitches.
Walking into the Commons/Mixer cafeteria at the Microsoft Redmond campus, you will be hard-pressed to hear English spoken. Only some Indian dialect or occasionally Mandarin. Only Americans working there seem to be the cafeteria staff.
We have enough American’s defecating on the streets...we don’t need to import indians do that for us.

Now comes this so-called “conservative” Senator Lee pushing S.386, a Green Card giveaway to Indian college graduates designed to promote their entry to the U.S. where they will take jobs that would otherwise be taken by American graduates.
“Lee’s bill is a huge giveaway to the U.S. investors who are investing in the huge U.S.-India Outsourcing Economy. That little-recognized economy is aided by the Indian government and is built on 800,000 Indian visa-worker college-graduates. The Indian graduates in the United States take U.S. jobs and also funnel millions of other jobs to at least two million Indians in India.
The Indian outsourcing economy is valued at almost $80 billion a year, and Lee’s bill would grow that economy by allowing investors to import more Indians graduates. The extra Indian graduates would take more jobs from citizens in computing, design, healthcare, management, and recruitment careers — and then be paid by Sen. Lee’s extra green cards.”
And for all of Sen. Lee’s grandiose talk against crony capitalism, it’s not hard to see how this bill emanates out of his own, massive, “...behind-the-scenes support from Silicon Valley investors and business groups, including the Chamber of Commerce, Amazon, Facebook, and FWD.us.”
So it is that REAL Conservatives, who stand for REAL Americans survey S.386, shake their heads in disgust, and cry, “Et tu, Lee?”

I have, and told them the young people demonstrating in DC about so called climate change should be expending their energy demonstrating against this bill.....because it will directly negatively impact their lives and make college debt more costly. The climate change is nebulous.
