When I was a kid, they bussed kids from Boston out to my well-to-do town. I was a naïve little kid and I watched a lot of TV. So, as you indicate, I had no worries about any of the inner city kids. They were just like me, right?
It didn't take long for everyone to realize that the black kids stole things and started fights. Everyone avoided them as much as possible.
It did absolutely no good in our area. Just screwed up the neighborhood school system.....which worked for 100 years.

PROBLEM ‘solved’
Busing FAILED.
Even the people in the poor communities hated it. Kids getting up at 6 AM and getting home at 5? This is a good?
I was in middle school when they started busing to my suburban school. They had to lock down EVERYTHING. Fire extinguishers and hoses, chairs in the quad, EVERYTHING.
Haha. My snowflake relatives are like that. They’re very liberal but they make sure their children attend elite schools. Can’t be seen with “ghetto kids”, ya know?
I never had to deal with busing, but a friend of mine went to school in Canoga Park (L.A. County) and there were ghetto kids bused to his school that got into fights almost every day because they didn’t want to be there and the locals didn’t want them there. Total culture clash, resulting in actual physical clashes. Nobody won.
Even the liberals won’t put up with schools bussing their kids to the ghetto.
