Germany will not declare Lebanons Hezbollah movement a terrorist organization, a top official said Friday.
Deputy Minister in the Foreign Ministry Niels Annen told news magazine Der Spiegel that the Iran-backed Shiite Islamist movement is a relevant factor in Lebanese society and part of the complex political landscape in the country.
The comments come after Britain last month banned Hezbollahs political wing, accusing the movement of destabilizing the Middle East.
The British move is a national decision that has no direct impact on the position of the German government or the EU, said Annen.
The European Union had already added Hezbollahs military wing to a list of banned terrorists groups in 2013. [ ]
Annen, who spoke to Der Spiegel after a visit to Lebanon, rejected US criticism that Germany was not doing enough to counter Irans influence in the region. He said Berlins foreign policy remained focused on finding political solutions to complex situations.

I think I’ve seen this show before.....
Yeah, Hezbollah stockpiling major weapons just north of Israel’s border is just an everyday common occurrence for peaceful groups.
Add Germany to the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
Bingo...
Hell, it can’t even figure out who are the terrorists within it’s own borders, not that our Leftist leaders are doing any better.
Germany abets the exploitation of the Lebanese by Mullahs to force them to fight Israel for them. This from a nation pretending it will not sell HKs to nations at war...
germany always were to exterminate jews.
always.
it is what they do.
OK, let’s sort it out.
Is there a difference in being war like, prepared for war, and being terrorist?. Hezbollah may very well be terrorist but not only on the basis of preparing for war.
Hezbollah an iranian surrogate operating within the sovereign borders of Lebanon. For this reason, should Hezbollah attack Israel, the counter attack must be made against Iran.
I would be interested to learn specific incidents of terrorism attributable to Hezbollah.
Hamas, that’s another Iranian surrogate and definitely terrorist in nature
Germany cares only about the potential markets available in Iran. Thus, it will do nothing to harm access, such as finding that Hezbollah is a terrorist organization. Add to the greed of German companies the growing and restive immigrant population which the German government dare not offend. Taken together, this is the perfect storm on which the decision to legitimize Hezbollah is based.
Thanks Olog-hai. Birds of a feather.

With allies like these, who needs enemies.
WTH are we still in NATO?!
I take it you want Germany to become even more dominant on the continent?
