Dow rallies 1,000 points, logging its biggest single-day point gain ever

Stocks rose sharply in volatile trading on Wednesday as surges in retail and energy shares helped Wall Street regain the steep losses suffered in the previous session.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average traded 657 points higher as of 3:05 p.m. ET, while the S&P 500 gained 3.05 percent. The Nasdaq Composite outperformed, rising 3.96 percent. Both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq were on track for their biggest one-day gains since Aug. 26, 2015 and erased Monday's losses. The Dow also recovered all of its losses from Monday.

I've been hearing those gold marketers on talk radio for decades now. At least as far back as the Chuck Harder show.
I always wondered though...why were they always so eager to exchange their precious gold for my "soon to be worthless" currency?

“My son gave me a $250 Amazon gift card for Christmas. I’m 75...so running around in stores is to much work.”
I’m 80 now, and I started using Amazon Prime about 10 Christmases ago.
Now, I also, use the military exchange for good prices, free deliveries after about $45 and no sales tax.
I bought some good items at a good price from Costco on line.

The market still has to gain 2000 points for me to break even from my investment last year. Right now I’m running a 3% to 10% loss on my initial investment in the market. It hasn’t been nice to me so far.

As much as I hate giving my money to Amazon I have not set foot into a brick and mortar store in a year and a half Amazon for EVERYTHING!!! I buy groceries at the store but EVERYTHING else is Amazon!!! My mom told me today they are going to do away with free shipping through the post office if this happens and we have to pay shipping I will be back to the stores again😩!!!!

Heard it on a talk radio show about investments and it stuck. The average time from a crash to complete recovery is 4 months.
