Some of this is starting to creep into our forum again, hence the reminder.
Debate the issues all you want, but please don't make it personal. Keep it clean, above board and above belt.
Also, whether pro or con, keep the q stuff off our regular forum threads. Post it on the q thread in chat/conspiracy. But again, keep it clean, don't make it personal, no name calling, no attacks, no threats, no violence.
Don't be a TROLL. Stay on topic, don't flame, don't engage in flamewars, feuds, cross-thread arguments, stalking or harassment.
If you don't like the subject or topic of the thread to the point you become abusive or trollish, stay off it.
The rules also apply to FReepmail. Do not send profane, insulting, threatening, harassing or otherwise unwanted or abusive messages.
If someone says stop, stop.
Do not harass or pester the mods.
Thanks
Thank you Jim.
I appreciate that we can discuss what is happening in the context of the Q thread.
The jury is out, but it has the excitement of FR back in the day, which I missed.
Merry Christmas!
Thank you for this post. I have too have noticed an uptick in fringey comments and posts. We all need to remember that our enemies monitor this board for posts they can use as evidence that we are bunch of wing nuts hosting an online convention of tin foil hat jobs and cyber cross burners.
Maybe they didn't agree with you.
Or maybe they were sleeping.........If that's the case, fire them.
Comments such as that add nothing to the thread but to generate arguments and destroy the friendly banter from those who follow it.
You're arguing for a level of moderation that far exceeds what's reasonable for an open discussion forum like FR. Jim has (wisely) never set such strict ground rules for this forum.
It's true that many comments here add little to the conversation, but I respect others' right to express them. They don't prevent me from following the train of more pertinent comments on any thread.
You displayed your arcane vocabulary, needlessly diluting the meaning of my original post.
For those who need it spelled out, when I objected to the “s-word” on FR, I was referring to the human bodily waste function #2, the noun and its variations as adjectives.
>>Is the P word okay if were talking about Comey...or Mueller...or all those other P words?
Pharmacist?
Aw jeez, cut me a break!
That's a pretty simple request, wouldn't you think?
I too!
Actually I suggested to my DH that we set a goal of a week of no (certain word). When we are together we can chastise each other. No, we are far from perfect. But, I’d like to get closer. So even for hostility (which is my usual usage of such cussing), I want to cut out of the habit.
So much easier to NOT TYPE it, too. Verbal is hard to stop, but why can’t we NOT TYPE it?
I'm already sick. Within the past year, there were plenty of times when I opened a good number of threads here, and a good number of them contained profanity. They weren't even all the threads that I'd expect to be the angriest-sounding.
Sadly it comes to this.....I never understood how some people get their feathers in a wad over talking on a forum. Seen it happen on many forums for years....it just isn’t worth it. Back away from the mouse and the computer and take a walk outside or something. I had a friend once tell someone in a middle of a fight....I am stopping talking right now because you and I will just walk away thinking we are the right one.
Merry Christmas!
Marquis of Queensbury rules!
LOLOL, you're such a troll, jonny!
Love ya!
I like your FReep name. I figured you must be a newbie.

Holy Cow. You’ve posted more in one week that some Freepers have in 20 years.
You’ve been here before, haven’t ya?
Thank you, Jim.
