I accept that Murkowski will vote no on confirming Kavanaugh.
As for Collins and Flake, I don't trust how they will vote on confirmation, no matter how they vote on cloture; believing them both to be snakes and willing to put Trump hatred above what is right as regards Kavanaugh himself.
It is a binary system. You either give R or D control
This idiocy of "Conservative Inc" always whining at their own side rather then hold the Democrats accountable EVER for their actions is the best PR the DNC has going for it.
They are all a damn disgrace to us, the American taxpayers, who pay their damn salaries, plus you name it. Our founding fathers never envisioned such a privileged bunch being provided federal employee/civil service insurance, add FERS (Federal Employees Retirement System) plus cash to vote. Look at the cash Goldman Sachs paid these pukes to vote for TPP. The list of votes bought for and the amounts paid for each deal is a disgrace. Our men in Army Infantry units, Marines, plus u name it who rely on the rotten VA is a disgrace for medical care next to these prima donnas who do nothing.
I trust NONE of them.
Let it become a rallying cry for Republicans in every Senate race between California and New England.
1. Donnelly and Heitkamp probably know they are already doomed. They cast their votes against Kavanaugh to protect their next job in the Beltway.
2. If Manchin votes against Kavanaugh he's probably doomed as well.
3. Nelson (FL) can't justify his vote. He's a goner.
4. Tester (MT) and McCaskill (MO) are now much more vulnerable than they were two months ago.
5. With a solid campaign built on this repulsive display of Democrat politics in Washington, the GOP should be able to defend Tennessee, Arizona and Nevada.
6. States like Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio and even New Jersey might suddenly be in play.
“Flake said he is voting yes”
Flake said he is voting yes unless something big comes up. Could be an envelop for Lee and something big from Coons.
Any possibility of some other DEM(s) voting “Yes”? I can see them voting “No” now, claiming more time is needed to investigate all of the allegations, hoping they wouldn’t be put on the spot to need to vote “Yes”.
If either Collins or Flake flips then Manchin will too.
If Kavanaugh gets confirmed with only 50 votes and Manchin is one of them then Manchin has no chance at getting re-elected. Manchin cannot get re-elected without some Republican and independent votes, but he also cannot get re-elected without any Democrat votes.
West Virginia Democrats will probably forgive him if his vote does not make a difference one way or the other, but if he casts the deciding vote for confirmation then Democrats from all over the country will get bussed into West Virginia to vote against him.
I trust Collins more to atleast say beforehand that she would NOT vote for BK (you know, to give the Rs a heads up and seek another option) while I wouldn’t put it past Flake to announce he WILL vote for BK and actually vote NO when it’s time to vote without any heads-up.
Don’t trust ANY Bush League Republican, including Graham, just because he’s siding with US on this one, does not mean he will side with the citizens and the rule of law next time amnesty comes up.
Its up to Trump to campaign for Kavanaugh in Red states where Dem Senators are up for election in tough races, not much time left
When the entire Ford exhibit is shown to be a demonrat fabrication, Collins and Flake will be shown to be demonrat enablers. MurCOWski? she’s just a demonrat in an “R” dress.
You are letting Murkowski off the hook. She too is a snake and a corrupt person. Just look at the way she got her writein votes done to get elected. Neither Murkowski nor Collins are ethical or trustworthy.
Hey Senator McTurtle, it sure would be nice if we had one more conservative Senator to count on, like say....Judge Moore. Its kinda funny how they accept that Judge Kavanaugh is innocent because there is no real evidence but they were happy to join the dems when they used the exact same tactic on Judge Moore, whose accuser also lacked any real evidence of wrong doing. So even though I believe Judge Kavanaugh and think he is a decent man who is far better than we could ever hope for I also know that Judge Moore is just as decent and was also wrongly accused. Sadly this situation is largley the fault of McConnell and GOP leadership who were happy to let the wolves dine on Judge Moore and when they came back for Judge Kavanaugh as the second course they act as though it could not have been expected. After the midterm election is over, win or lose, the republicans MUST elect new leaders and get rid of the old fossils who are not savvy in the scorched earth tactics of todays democrats.
Manchin may give a yes to stay in office. WV has lots of new voters. The other three can rot.
Collins is going to speak at 3pm. If she says yea fine otherwise she has outlived her very limited GOP usefulness.
In the past she voted for some very conservative GOP justices.
If Kav is approved Trump will release the FISA docs, and other Dim abuse memos showing how Obama corrupted the FBI, NSA, DNI, DOJ and how fusion, Kuie, Clinton campaign fed lies to their media friends, and framed Trump. This will energize the GOP base and non affiliated voters.
Newt Gingrich says a Kav win will decimate the moral of the Dim leftist loonies, they know they will not get the house the Senate, the WH and have no power in the Supreme Court.
They might give up altogether and have lower turnout.
Newt is usually right on the politics.
McTurdle said Moore was a poor candidate, yet he won 8 elections during his career, and beat Trump’s choice Strange
and a long time congressman.
Moore’s sin. He said if he had to choose he would vote against McTurdle for majority leader.
So after spending $30 million and helping the Dims, we got
Sen. Doug Jones in Jeff Sessions old seat and he is a no vote
against Kav. Great Move McConnell.
You can’t spell trust without rust.
Because our side simply doesn’t fight for what it wants.
Honestly, there’s no better champion for the Left that those at the tip top of Republican leadership.
Trump is doing his job. McConnell and Ryan might just as well hold up a placard and tell folks to vote for the Democrats.
They drive off more potential votes than we can spark.
Take a look at the registration rolls.
The Republican party in some states lags behind independents.
It has nearly destroyed itself.
I wouldn’t give you two cents for most of the Republicans in the Senate.
