If Trump kills “agency shop” union power will desolve overnight.

Even that Commie Franklin Delano Roosevelt was against public sector unions.

They should be abolished, but this is a good start.

allows states to require public employees to pay fees to unions that represent them

Although I generally loathe and despise unions, the feds have no constitutional authority to regulate states here. The feds need to butt out. This is an issue of constitutionally sovereign states not a federal issue.

“Fair Share” is one of the most odious inventions of the 20th century.

Public employees are forced to pay exhorbitant dues to unions which are in bed with administration/management.

The unions have no incentive to straighten up and fly right because they are ensured of their “fair share” through payroll deductions.

What a scam!

public employees shouldn’t have unions it perpetuates a bribery cycle. The union gives dues money to politicians who vote on their salary and benefits after the governor negotiates. The governor and legislatures receive contributions from the unions. The pay benefits go up, so the union raises dues and gives more money to the pols to raise pay and benefits. If there must be public unions no contributions for public officials, including no advertising.

My DIL worked on a case in 2016 that was the same as "Janus" but was Friedrichs vs the unions. They were poised to win it when Scalia died. The judgement came back 4-4 so lower court rulings held (status quo). They were pretty crushed. In fact, when I heard Scalia had died that was the first thought in my head.

She is working on Janus, too, as a consultant in education particularly charter schools and voucher programs. A great conservative!

If I pay my neighbors salary, who is a public worker and the union gets 1.5% of his salary then thats a great backdoor way for Democrat entities to get my money.

I’d have no prob with public employee unions existed so long as they are nit connects to afl-cio, are completely barred from lobbying, political donations, and solely exist to represent employees in dispute and act as a lauson between labor and management. I guess if id settle for that....

I had to pay a dollar to read the story so I didn’t, but if the headline is true this great news! I would say the best news I’ve heard in a long time but with President Trump that’s not true, I hear good news all the time, and I’m not tired of it!

Collective bargaining in the public sector should be outlawed. The taxpayer is NOT representated.

Would they put this to the SC yet without feeling reasonably confident the SC will back them?

Bravo, Mr. President!

He seems to be racking up “first year” accomplishments like fudge, cherry, whipped cream and nuts to top off the (admittedly mediocre) tax package ice cream, Congress serves that up this year too.
