Ted Cruz Loses Every Single County In South Carolina Election - Including the Staunchly Evangelical Counties

by sundance

In August of 2015, against considerable backlash, we stood firm on a fundamental position that Senator Ted Cruz did not have a pathway, a roadmap, to victory in the 2016 GOP presidential primary.

Despite the fundamentally sound reasoning for our prediction, which was entirely based on congressional district by district analytics, our position drew an immense amount of criticism and even a quick response from the Cruz campaign itself (Brian Phillips).

Unfortunately, tonight’s South Carolina results vindicate a massive amount of historical research. There simply is no pathway to victory when you rely almost exclusively on “proselytizing as an electoral strategy“:

sc counties(link)

Not one county, and not a single delegate

defeated

REMINDER

It’s not personal, it is simply a factual reality. The Ted Cruz Road Map is non-existent; and beyond the SEC primary states there is little to no organization at all. Nothing in the state of Florida. The campaign is NOT what most people have been led to believe it is.

We strongly urge people to do their own research and to connect their own dots. The campaign will NOT stop sending you donation requests, that much is certain.

Think on it: Two fellow candidates called him a LIAR on the national debate stage. Not, "I disagree" or "you misstated the facts" or something soft like that. LIAR. That's harsh.

In 55 years of watching debates (first was JFK-Nixon) I do not recall any candidate calling another candidate a LIAR on his/her face. I mean not even close.

Folks, it’s the message. The social conservatism preacher televangelist act Cruz is doing gives him a ceiling around 20-25% anywhere he goes. It’s a major turnout to “somewhat conservative” and “moderate” republicans. Look at the exit polls. The only ones that like Cruz are the “very conservative” republicans and there simply aren’t enough of them for Cruz to win in the south, north, midwest, west, anywhere really outside of a few niche caucus states like Iowa.

He’s toast. The country isn’t as conservative as Ted Cruz. It might pain you but the most conservative candidate that is electable is Donald Trump. He may be moderate on many issues but on the most important issue immigration he is head and shoulders above. Without borders, there is no country and nothing else matters.

I have traveled in every country in Europe. I was married to a Swedish lady and spent lot of time there. I have not seen the type of evangelistic fervor evident in United States. Take abortion for example. It is legal in every country in the world except these six: Holy See, Malta, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Chile. In Canada, there are no legal restrictions on abortion.

So, you are right. Barely 20-25% of Americans are strong religious conservatives. 75 to 80% are not. Which makes very difficult for any candidate pushing the religious theme to win elections. If Cruz can not win a SINGLE county in South Carolina, he has no path to win nomination.

By Cruz staying in the race, the path to nomination becomes much easier for the GOPe candidate, Marco Rubio.
Trump was never a strict social conservative, but he is the candidate the conservatives need in 2016. Because there are other facets of conservatism in dire straits. Such as illegal immigrants, no borders, hemorrhaging Trillion dollars every year in foreign trade deficits, and fighting wars in middle-east with borrowed money from China, Japan & Europe.

Cruz can’t be VP if there’s even a shadow of doubt about his eligibility to be President.

Supreme Court Justice or Attorney General is the top of the mark for him.

And this is not a social issues election, but an election for the very heart and soul of the nation. The border needs to be secured, the economy resurrected and the ship of state turned away from the left and at least toward the center right before there is any talk of attempting anything else. The only social issue that probably needs to be dealt with is ejecting the transgender soldiers and sailors and airmen out of the service. Did you know the VS spent 20 million dollars in building a special VA clinc to serve Transgender veteran’s needs. How many Transgender veterans does the clinic serve? 20....thats right, 20 transgender veterans that have different problems with alcohol and drug abuse than more normal veterans with similar problems. This is how far we have sunk...

This says it all!!! I was dead right on target....A vote cast for Ted Cruz is a wasted vote!!! If Cruz was ever nominated...he will not be, any Democrat will slaughter him politicaly in the general electio!!! Here are the hard facts:

- Donald John Trump - 339,851 votes

- Marco Rubio - 165,881 votes

- Ted Cruz - 164,790 votes

Take note, folks, I correctly predicted that Trump would finish first in South Carolina, Rubio would finish second & Cruz would finish third!!! Ted Cruz has seen his best days!!! Bottom Line: At the end of the day as my British friends like to quot so often....”Honesty Is The Best Policy”!!! You Cruz gals & guys, need a serious reality check!!! I told ya so!!!

I only pray he does not back the GOPe when the time comes

Y'all really need to go read this. It's all documented, which is a prerequisite for me even agreeing to read something like this. Cruz tries to straddle the fence, depending on circumstances at the moment. He's a phony. He cannot be trusted because of his political ambitions that get the best of him sometimes. I think he started out sincere, but I suspect we have no clue what it's like to be shunned and isolated like he was. They broke him.

He'll be handing his delegates to Rubio, if he lasts that long. Bank on it.

He’s run departments and he has been in private practice.

From wikipedia, “Cruz graduated from Princeton University in 1992, and from Harvard Law School in 1995. Between 1999 and 2003, Cruz was the director of the Office of Policy Planning at the Federal Trade Commission, an associate deputy attorney general at the United States Department of Justice, and domestic policy advisor to President George W. Bush on the 2000 George W. Bush presidential campaign. He served as Solicitor General of Texas from 2003 to 2008, appointed by Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott. He was the first Hispanic, and the longest-serving solicitor general, in Texas history. From 2004 to 2009, Cruz was also an adjunct professor of law at the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, where he taught U.S. Supreme Court litigation.”

I think he’s experienced enough to not have too much difficulty if he were elected President.

"How do people keep falling for this over and over?!"

IMHo, since the sixties, Americans, across the board, have lived in carefully crafted illusions rather than dealing with reality.

One of the most heavily promoted and carefully crafted illusions is that agreeing with one party or the other when they claim, our lawyer is better than your lawyer, is the same thing as having a choice on election day along with the corollary that sticking with career politician lawyers is better than taking the risk of electing someone who isn't a lawyer.

JMHo, YMMV, void where prohibited by law, and etc.

He'd make an excellent choice to replace Scalia though.

Yep, let the crackerjack lawyer do lawyer work. That's his forte.

Trump likes to point out that the other candidates spend millions on pollsters and handlers who tell these guys how to act or what to say. Cruz's magic keyword catch phrase guy, Mr. Mercer, can't inject or invent a likable personality for the Tedster to appeal to a broad base.

Ted, serve the country as either the Attorney General or the USSC or stay in the Senate, although, I think he'd be much more useful in either of the other two positions.

LAUGH BREAK Some are foolishly saying, a victory in his home state of Texas gives Cruz the big mo he lost in SC and NH.....but Cruz is looking more and more like ex-Texas Gov Perry---two stealth candidates trusting Texans hardly knew.

At first, Cruz (like Perry) looked good....prez material, even. Then candidate Cruz (like Perry) began admitting things that trusting Texans knew nothing about.

Perry shocked his constituents when he admitted in a debate that he was using trusting Texans tax dollars to give illegals in-state tuition. Perry also installed the country's first Sharia Court in Texas....active to this day.

Cruz heaped on the surprises:

<><> I didn't know I was a Canadian citizen when I ran for the Senate until the media exposed it.

<><> I told trusting Texas voters wifey and I were liquidating family assets so I could get into the Senate.

<><> I didnt know I was supposed to tell the FEC I borrowed over a million from my Wall Street margin accounts to fund my campaign.

<><> I told Mark Levin the borrowed funds were used for campaign ads....but I didn't report this as required.

<><> And so on and so forth, ad infinitum, ad nauseaum.

============================================

BACKSTORY Cruz/s Senate election fairy tale has become legendary......portraying himself to trusting Texans as a scrappy populist putting everything on the line to overcome a wealthy establishment opponent.

He was whining in the media, telling trusting Texans that he, and his faithful little wife (a $700,000 globalist lawyer employed by G/S), were forced to liquidate their entire family savings (of slightly more than $1 million) to fuel a come-from-behind win in the Republican primary.

NOW TRUSTING TEXANS LEARN Cruz did not liquidate family assets.....he got his hands on over a million dollars from his hefty margin accounts at G/S and Citibank......and did not disclose this on FEC reports (to keep it a secret from trusting Texans).

Cruz did not disclose loans on FEC reports (required by law) b/c Texans would have discovered he was not the aw-shucks rube he pretended to be. He continued the rube act in order to milk votes from trusting Texans.

At the same time, he also did not disclose he was a dual Canadian citizen......the Harvard-educated lawyer w/ two Ivy League degrees said he didn't know. When the Dallas Morning News published his Canadian birth certificate, Cruz put trusting Texans through the charade of renouncing his Canadian citizenship.....even though Canada did not recognize dual citizenship at that time.

============================================

Cruz (like Perry) didn't know when to keep his mouth shut. Political blunders piled up ... it was one disaster after another. The dumb moves made will be required learning.... what not to do...... for any candidate!

SC was a Cruz must-win because if he can/t win SC, what state is he going to win? The upcoming SEC isn/ t that different. Southern states are southern states.

IMHO, Cruz/s Ceaucescu Moment was when he brazenly responded to Donald/s cease and desist letter by saying he/d make sure the offensive ads would run even more frequently.

His mask slipped.....he showed then what a cocksure SOB he really is.

I think we are going to watch Cruz do the long goodbye going forward. Or if he runs out of money the short goodbye.

Yet, we know he/s full of dirty tricks.....and he/s in deep w/ the Big Money Boys...so I/m pretty sure they/ll provide the money he needs....under the table.

I think Cruz is perfect for SCOTUS - you’d never have to worry about a decision with him. I doubt Cruz wants to become a shut-in at 44 years old though. SCOTUS is made for him - it’s not a leadership position and it puts his best talents to work.

Ted Cruz has torn up the Constitution and is in gross violation of his oath to protect and defend the Constitution. After his current contemptuous disregard for the natural born citizen clause of the Constitution, he is not fit to serve any official capacity anywhere. He is just another unindicted felon. Still, let’s assume for the sake of this discussion we can omit his violations of Constitutional eligibility. You still have Ted Cruz either violating election laws with impunity or at least acting highly unethically while trying to skirt overt violations of the election laws. You also have a U.S. Senator Ted Cruz who is not fulfilling his oath when he has aided and abetted legislation that fails to defend the United States and its citizens against illegal immigration and illegal immigrant felonies. The issue of illegal immigration, sanctuary cities,, and many other unrelated legislative issues and issues before Ted Cruz as a government attorney disqualify him as any form of conservative justice whatsoever. Instead, Ted Cruz has demonstrated himself to be just another ambitious person playing naïve would be conservatives for suckers as he pretends to be serving the conservative cause as a stepping stone to positions of the greatest power and independence from further obligations to conservatives.
