Donald Trump noticeably absent from GOP candidates standing for life on anniversary of Roe
Live Action News ^ | Jan. 22, 2016 | Kristi Burton Brown

On the 43rd anniversary of Roe v. Wade, many GOP presidential contenders were not silent. While Democrats Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton continue to defend the horrors of abortion, Republicans Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, Rick Santorum, Carly Fiorina, and Ben Carson took to social media. Recognizing the tragedy of over 58 million lives lost, these candidates explained why they stand for life.

Donald Trump, however, has been silent on abortion, the March for Life, and Roe v. Wade all day. He is the only GOP front runner to avoid making a statement. Issues concerning Trump’s pro-abortion past continue to rise – including his statement that his sister would be “one of the best” justices for the U.S. Supreme Court, despite her ruling in favor of partial-birth abortion as a circuit judge.

Trump’s lack of a statement on the anniversary of Roe further illustrate the muddle he is in with pro-lifers and conservatives. His statements are viewed by some as very concerning, including his recent observation that “[W]e have to look at the positives, also, for Planned Parenthood.”

Trump is the only true conservative in the race.

Wow...when did they change the definition of populist to conservative...

Trump has recently taken more conservative positions (which is good), but in no shape or form does he resembles a true conservative...

I saw on TV news Donald Trump saying he could SHOOT someone and would not lose supporters.

His supporters ought to listen up, as even Donald is telling them how blind they are.

Stop making stuff up.

I didn’t like Romney, and I don’t like Trump.

They are both flip floppers who canNOT be trusted.

No matter what Trump does, his supporters trust him.

What’s the difference between Trump supporters and Obama supporters?

So could Cruz. It's hyperbole, and meant to describe the strength of attachment the voter has for the candidate.

Cruz would NEVER say anything like that, and I believe you know it.

Cruz has a proven record of fighting for conservative values; Donald has a mouth

I’ll stick with the proven-record guy - CRUZ.

So many politicians promise us the world, including Tea Party candidates, and then abandon us.

Wake up, folks.

Even if Trump were pro-choice, he’d still have my vote. A vote for anyone else, with the possible exception of Cruz (although that’s even hard to tell), means a CERTAIN Democrat majority in less than a decade (as the illegals are legalized and bring their buddies, I mean families, here).

At that point, abortion, along with gun control, and every other issue will be ‘settled’ and what’s left of the Republican Party will either have to parrot the Democrats, to get any plush assignments, or will be kept around by the Dems for propaganda purposes, the Iran, to this day, keeps its Jews around.

I don't think he'd say something like that either. But if he did, I wouldn't make a big deal of it. His supporters are very loyal, and reasonably tolerate imperfection.

Too many people have drunk the Trump koolaid. I thought after 8 years of obama that Americans would want a constitutionalist. If it keeps going like it is, it will be another pro big government, populist person in office.

He says what people want to hear, he had a name everyone knows, and he has cash to back himself up.

Personally, I think he’s doing it for his own ego.

As an Albertan possibly needing a place to flee to, this isn’t looking good.

i apologize. but it says in the first sentence of his that he is for abortion in cases or rape and incest.

that means his justice department will fight those states that outlaw the exceptions.

No other rep candidate has that position.

i guess if one wants an abortion they will travel as far as needed and it’s a moot issue.

what do i know?

Picking Justices is like picking from a Chocolate Sampler. Using “Kelo v. City of New London”, as an example because it is in my ping file.

https://www.law.cornell.edu/supct/html/04-108.ZS.html

268 Conn. 1, 843 A. 2d 500, affirmed.

Stevens, J., delivered the opinion of the Court, in which Kennedy, Souter, Ginsburg, and Breyer, JJ., joined. Kennedy, J., filed a concurring opinion. O’Connor, J., filed a dissenting opinion, in which Rehnquist, C. J., and Scalia and Thomas, JJ., joined. Thomas, J., filed a dissenting opinion.

Kennedy: President Reagan nominated him as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, and he took his seat February 18, 1988.

Souter: President Bush nominated him as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, and he took his seat October 9, 1990.

Stevens: President Ford nominated him as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, and he took his seat December 19, 1975.

All three of these Republican Presidents were “pro-life”. Donald Trump has already said he is going to defund Planned Parenthood. Part of the Art of the Deal is “Deliver the Goods”

“You can create excitement, you can do wonderful promotion and get all kinds of press, and you can throw in a little hyperbole. But if you don’t deliver the goods, people will eventually catch on.”

Republicans Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, Rick Santorum, Carly Fiorina, and Ben Carson took to social media.

These folks are obviously trying to cover for Jeb!'s fundraiser hosted by leading Planned Parenthood funder Nancy Brinker.
