Midterm elections are often a reflection of the approval rating of the incumbent president and now President Obama stands at 42.8%. And elections in the 6th year of a Presidents term are usually not good for the incumbents party. To make things even worse for Democrats, the issues of a weak economy and Obamacare make November look bleak for Harry Reid and his Senate Democratic cohorts.

Im wondering just how the Republicans will pull off a game plan that will not only destroy their advantage but also cost them more seats. I know they have it in them.

Pubbies have long and undistinguished track record of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory and in turning advantage into capitulation. My money is on a repeat performance.
Republican by day, Democrat by night.
That is a good one. I will probably steal that line.
For the last 6 years the gop-e have managed to hand everything over to the dems. Unless the Tea Party steps in again, I’m sure the gop-e will continue it’s downward spiral.
There, fixed it.
“A Republican majority won’t be enough. We need real conservatives with the balls to reverse this Obama nightmare. “
For the first time, it appears that we are poised to do both. To rid the Congress of both RATs and RINOs. We may not be successful in each instance, but you can bet that the RINOs are quietly crapping their pants as this is written. Further, even if Conservatives aren’t 100% successful, the 2014 elections are going to be a wakeup call for the remaining RINOs. getting functional control of both Houses has to be the primary goal, with getting control of the Party Leadership a close second. We need to be successful this year, because in 2016 Republicans will, for the first time, have more seats on the line in the Senate than the RATs.
Pryor’s page was full of negative responses. I’m sure he didn’t expect that with his Bible in hand pic and comments!
Kick em all!
Harry's dam lucky he reps Nevada----if he repped Alaska, he'd be on an ice floe w/ the rest of the useless Eskimoes, floating out into the frigid Arctic Ocean, clad in a sealskin coat, bearskin shorts and a pair of mukluks.
He looks like a doddering old fool but he runs the senate like a mafia major domo.
I think that’s the difference today. Republicans put in a nice guy country clubber (Boehner) and the Dems have a shark.
If a plane is losing altitude quickly and looks like it’s going to crash into the ground, the recovery needs to be a steady arc to level off the craft and then focus on gaining altitude. Same with politics. First we get out of the death spiral by purging as many democrats as possible, then we focus on gaining altitude by replacing the RINOs with constitutional conservatives. To try to immediately regain our altitude might only serve to damage the plane or lose control completely. It needs to be a process and not a single immediate jolt or else the people will freak out due to shock to their normalcy bias. Step by step we can win this thing. Hang in there.
Never underestimate the RINO’s ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Harry’s just a lab specimen (genus Democrat)-—soemthing smeared on a glass slide.
To think we could have gotten rid of Reid a while back. Thanks Sharon Angle, and thanks people of Nevada.
I would have to say incumbents are in trouble
I have heard that as well. Note that he is quite wealthy now. What does that tell you?
...or morons elected by the GOP. Indiana and Missouri had a pair of idiots. Clearly nobody prepared either of them to answer very common questions designed to trip them up and to avoid topics they know would/could be twisted. If they were not prepared for that somebody was not doing their job; if they were, and still got it wrong, they were idiots.
To many on FR, the Democrats are never in trouble, they never lose.
At his age? Why in the world would Pressler do that?
Not if we win some crucial Primaries!
How does one say they are a Democrat and still a Christian?
