Sarah Palin: 'We've got to stand with our North Korean allies' (Liberals Are Loving It)

Sarah Palin never claimed she could see Russia from her house – that was Tina Fey – but she went one better on Glenn Beck's radio show in discussing the tensions in the Korean Peninsula and saying: "We've got to stand with our North Korean allies".

A transcript of the radio show reads:

Interviewer: How would you handle a situation like the one that just developed in North Korea?

Palin: Well, North Korea, this is stemming from a greater problem, when we're all sitting around asking, 'Oh no, what are we going to do,' and we're not having a lot of faith that the White House is going to come out with a strong enough policy to sanction what it is that North Korea is going to do. So this speaks to a bigger picture that certainly scares me in terms of our national security policy. But obviously, we've got to stand with our North Korean allies – we're bound to by treaty....

Interviewer: South Korean.

Palin: Yes, and we're also bound by prudence to stand with our South Korean allies, yes.

“What’s equally pathetic, I think, are the number of people on this forum who buy into the idea that Palin is not qualified to be President. She know’s that the government’s job is to protect our freedoms and not to protect us from our own weaknesses.

Knowing the difference between “right” and “wrong” is so much more critical to our nation’s future than knowing “south” from “north”.

I wouldn’t care that Obama doesn’t know that there are 50 states if I was confident that protecting the freedom of the people in all those states was his only job.”

This is well stated, and worth repeating.

Not just liberals, there are plenty of idiot a**ed FReepers who are trashing her on this thread as if saying North Korean was a life ruining gaff.

Well, there'll be plenty of lives ruined if, for whatever reason, our cruise missile subs and B-52 bombers are given orders to attack South Korean targets in aid of our allies in North Korea. Most notably, the 28,000 US servicemen in the country, living on military bases (which are usually the enemy targets you try and hit).

Mark my words. A purge is coming.

I think Sarah Palin would be horrified to see conservatives eagerly trying to shred our Bill of Rights for her.

I guess Machiavelli was right, "The ends justify the means."

(If you don't find their point valid, prove it wrong.)

Me, I'd still vote for Palin. But after seeing her support here, maybe that might not be a good idea. You all come across like the NKVD, ready to send all opposition into re-education camps or banishment.

So, I'm starting to lean toward DeMint or Rubio because of it.

Just look, we have a huge thread over nothing because Sarah is involved.

It's actually very informative. Specially about the supporters for and against.

On one side, we have those that believe a simply managling of phrase (north/south) is proof that Palin is not fit to be President...

...and on the other, we have people calling for purges and restrictions on what we can say here at the Free Republic.

---

And *THAT* has helped me immensely to see just what each sides supporters are *REALLY* willing to do.

Glen Beck is a libertarian and has repeatedly said so.

Which, to so many supposedly conservative Freepers, means he’s a pot-smoking libtard who loves big government programs, but just doesn’t want to pay for it.

The real winner would be DeMint/Rubio. I could get behind that ticket, big time.

By the way, you must be one of only a few conservatives in Seattle. Although, perhaps people are starting to wake up even in that city.

“Glen Beck is a libertarian and has repeatedly said so.”

I’ve never heard him say, but I don’t tune in a lot, so thanks for the info.

As far as government programs, I get the impression he doesn’t want that at all, which would definitely fall under what I know about the Libertarian party platform [from listening to Neal Boortz]. Seems like they’re “stay out of our business” small-government types.

So why would anyone think Glenn Beck smokes pot because he’s a Libertarian? I’ve only heard him say he’s a recovering alcoholic and just assumed he’s against substance abuse.

By what convoluted reasoning did you come up with that statement? You are equating a verbal gaffe on TV with someone giving orders, are you totally full of sh** or just stupid?

“I “misspoke” only works if you’re a Democrat.”

That, the race card, and ‘I cannot recall’, and playing off of the general short attention span of the American public are 4 of the most oft used plays in the RATs playbook.

“By the way, you must be one of only a few conservatives in Seattle. Although, perhaps people are starting to wake up even in that city.”

We have some new groups forming - Tea Parties - including the very active Olympia (Ken Morse) http://www.olympiateaparty.com/ and East Side Tea Parties. Keep in mind that Keli Carender, a.k.a Liberty Belle, was instrumental in some of the first Tea Party protests (Feb. 2009), not long after Rick Santelli’s rant. Keli - among other claims to fame, is a pretty funny improvisational comedienne. This is her blog:
http://www.redistributingknowledge.blogspot.com/

Preceding the Tea Parties was a group with a cool name - the Conservative Underground and an up and coming conservative group in north Seattle in the midst of the lefties and libs called the Shoreline Caucus. If you’re from WA State - look these groups up and GET INVOLVED!!

Me, I'd still vote for Palin. But after seeing her support here, maybe that might not be a good idea.

Oh? So the big, bad, meanie Freepers have forced you to drop your support of the one person you'd most like to see become president?

LOL! Tell me another one. I'm easy!

(If you don't find their point valid, prove it wrong.)

Maybe you haven't been reading enough here, but we Palin supporters regularly take apart the arguments of her detractors on this website with facts, logic, and reason.

When you see an all-out assault against some anti-Palin poster here, it's because they've proven themselves to be either a RINO, a liberal troll, a paid political operative, a dunce, or a complete lunatic.

If you don't mind, I'll reserve the right to continue thrashing the above morons. FR is still a conservative website, i.e., Palin Country.

YOU'RE SUCH A FOOLISH TROLL!

You embarrass yourself, onyx. As I recall, you used to run with The Coven back before the purge of Rudy supporters, et al, always pinging the gang to a thread to have your merry fun. You disappeared for about 2-1/2 years. Now, you're back and deciding who the trolls are!! Isn't that special?!!

With Jim saying FR will oppose him if he gets the nom, I don’t think RomneyBOTs are long for this place.

Calling one a RomneyBOT does not make one a RomneyBOT. All too often, Palinistas label those who aren't 100% pro-Palin as supporters of Romney, Ron Paul, or Obama himself. "Concern Troll" is another label they like to throw around. Their charges are based not on fact but on wishful thinking.

La Enchiladita, you've done a good job of explaining your real problem with Palin on this issue, especially on posts 159 and 161 on this other thread. :)

Let's see if I understand your position.

If someone on the "left" (dem/lib/prog/pop) made such a gaffe, they would be castigated severely and for a very long time by those on the "right" (rep/conserv/rino).

However, if someone on the "right" makes such a gaffe, they are given a "free pass" by those on the right...or their gaffe is excused as being irrelevant.
Moreover, should anyone on the "left" take note of the gaffe and make fun of the one making it, then those on the "right" have the responsibility to belittle and castigate those on the "left" for even hinting that the original "gaffer" is anything but perfect.

Am I close??

NO. My posting dealt your your apparent need to be "fair" relative to Biden...

There is no "fair" when it comes to principles and being fair is not logical. Gaffes are irrelevant as far as the issues. e.g. FR does not let leftists promote their agenda here (how unfair) -in my opinion, there is no doctrine of "fairness" that negates principle. We need real people, gaffes and all, to take back the government NOT more of the same anointed polished establishment puppets...

Why is Biden even relevant was my point... You wish to ridicule or disparage Palin then just do it -no need to hide behind "fairness" as an excuse. Take responsibility for what you do..
