Sarah Palin: 'We've got to stand with our North Korean allies' (Liberals Are Loving It)

Sarah Palin never claimed she could see Russia from her house – that was Tina Fey – but she went one better on Glenn Beck's radio show in discussing the tensions in the Korean Peninsula and saying: "We've got to stand with our North Korean allies".

A transcript of the radio show reads:

Interviewer: How would you handle a situation like the one that just developed in North Korea?

Palin: Well, North Korea, this is stemming from a greater problem, when we're all sitting around asking, 'Oh no, what are we going to do,' and we're not having a lot of faith that the White House is going to come out with a strong enough policy to sanction what it is that North Korea is going to do. So this speaks to a bigger picture that certainly scares me in terms of our national security policy. But obviously, we've got to stand with our North Korean allies – we're bound to by treaty....

Interviewer: South Korean.

Palin: Yes, and we're also bound by prudence to stand with our South Korean allies, yes.

Many years ago, when I first started doing a lot of client presentations, I got some colleagues who I thought were really good at doing such stuff to help me improve (I should have hired a professional coach, but I didn't). The results were dramatic. Being a really good communicator takes a huge amount of work and practice. It isn't enough to have a good product...and it isn't enough to just be yourself. Just as professional musicians and singers have to practice to perfect their performance, so do oral communicators (particular when you are communicating with people from a wide array of cultures).

Sarah is a natural...but that's not enough. She needs to take that natural talent and polish it until she broadens her appeal to include those who are currently put off by her. For example, her folksy style is adored by most rural Americans, but urbanites I speak with are occasionally repelled. Softening that style just a little bit would still leave her rural base satisfied but would help her attract more urban conservatives and independents.

IMO, the best way to do that is to hire a professional.

Sarah.. you`ve got to do better. The media is watching you like a hawk waiting to jump all over the first misstep. Don`t give them freebies.

We are not in disagreement. To be clear, it was never my intent to claim her gaffe was a disaster. But our illustrious MSM, along with their demo, rino, and “comic” enablers, like Tina Fey for example, will do everything possible to turn her gaffe into a national disaster.

There should be allow against gaffial discrimination. All gaffes should be treated equally.

OK, what’s your first choice?

I’m not sure that anyone doesn’t have baggage and everyone is a punching bag for the left or will be if nominated - whether or not stuff is true - at least Newt has known baggage. As for scuzzafaza (sic) in NY 23, we’ll just add that sack to the baggage - a relatively small bag.

I wonder why there isn’t at least one really sharp conservative and also likable with no baggage?

“Oh, so we’re ALSO bound to stand with our South Korean allies too (meaning, in addition to the North Korean allies she just mentioned?)? Go figure.”

She obviously meant to say “stand with our South Korean allies - we’re bound by treaty...” and is then interupted and corrected by Beck. She continues the thought, with the corrected South Korea, and finishes what was probably the rest of her original sentence: “... we’re bound by treaty and also by prudence....”

Yeah - that other sentence about sitting around talking was mangled.

But at this point in history, conservatives need true public speakers to convey our message to the unwashed masses in a way that won’t be ridiculed by 51% of the population.

You await the conservative messiah much like the left awaited theirs -OBAMA -ALL SHOW no substance, great communicator, lousy leader -spineless bureaucrat...

You gotta break some eggs to make an omelet...

I myself am happy with a good hot helping of scrambled eggs -YOU keep waiting for your soufflett ala maverick establishment pretty boytt...

Palin is the real thing baby!

Palin is a clown. Sad that so many can`t see that. All package and no substance.

Unsubstantiated opinion.

WHere's your proof?

And thus is the end of the Palin Family’s time in the limelight.

Man, is that an ignorant post.

You apparently haven't been paying attention for the last 2 years.

Palin, or her family, is not going to shut-up.

Not at all awaiting the conservative messiah: I cited valid options of much better speakers and greater minds (Michele Bachman, Jim DeMint and Mike Rogers).

I just realized a simplistic football analogy that sums up Palin:

Palin is indeed a good CHEERLEADER for the conservative cause, but would we want her as QUARTERBACK?

My answer is “No” there are far better conservative quarterback candidates.

How about a DeMint/Bachman ticket?

Oh for goodness sakes, it was a slip. It’s clear from the context that it was a slip.
It’s not as though she said “CORPESmen”, as did the “smartest” man on the planet.

Hmmm....too bad those here at FR don't "cut the same slack" for Biden. He's made plenty of slips in his time...and on here they're the equivalent to being subject to confinement in a mental institution. I could throw the little tin god into the mix, but I'm sure you get the point.

How about a DeMint/Bachman ticket?

No one is stopping them.

In my opinion, true leaders come up from and through the ranks having weathered the selection process, having built and established political consensus to lead based upon the people directly providing the consensus rather than the leaders we have seen recently that step out from behind closed doors as anointed by a party with a complete disconnect from the people they should really be beholden to. We see this with McCain and Romney to name a few...

What is So refreshing about Palin is not that she is a cheerleader as the leftist would like to portray her --IT is that she took the "playing field" out from behind closed doors and opened up the stadium to all comers...

Cheerleader my *ss! --She put the field back on the map!

I think you truly miss the forset for the tress as to what she represents, symbolizes and embodies -precisely what the tea party is all about...

TAKING OUR COUNTRY BACK!

What is your point -fairness?

Fairness is subjective touchy feely cr*p the left wields...

Logic?

Sarah Palin's Response-
A Thanksgiving Message to All 57 States
My fellow Americans in all 57 states, the time has changed for come. With our country founded more than 20 centuries ago, we have much to celebrate – from the FBI’s 100 days to the reforms that bring greater inefficiencies to our health care system. We know that countries like Europe are willing to stand with us in our fight to halt the rise of privacy, and Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. And let’s face it, everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma and they end up taking up a hospital bed. It costs, when, if you, they just gave, you gave them treatment early, and they got some treatment, and ah, a breathalyzer, or an inhalator. I mean, not a breathalyzer, ah, I don’t know what the term is in Austrian for that…

Of course, the paragraph above is based on a series of misstatements and verbal gaffes made by Barack Obama (I didn’t have enough time to do one for Joe Biden). YouTube links are provided just in case you doubt the accuracy of these all too human slips-of-the-tongue. If you can’t remember hearing about them, that’s because for the most part the media didn’t consider them newsworthy. I have no complaint about that. Everybody makes the occasional verbal gaffe – even news anchors.

While the context demonstrates that this NK deal was a slip of the tongue,

The same cannot be said for Obama's "my Muslim faith" comment.

Obama said he was thankful that McCain did not criticize him for his Muslim faith. Substitute "Christian" for "Muslim" and the sentence doesn't make much sense. McCain himself claims to be a Christian....why would he criticize anyone for their "Christian faith?"

I like Jim DeMint, Paul Ryan, Sarah Palin and Marco Rubio - I think a DeMint/Rubio ticket would be strong, or DeMint/Palin, Palin/DeMint, Palin/Rubio...

“Maybe Democraps are just slicker than conservatives and have the gift of gab.”

While they stick the knife deep in our backs...also, they are treated with kid gloves by the socialist propagandists - or did you forget about them?

I don’t think the left is actually all that slick frankly. Today’s media is MUCH different than in JFK’s time, for instance, where they covered for president’s gaffes and full on trysts for that matter...

Today it’s 24x7 news cycle - and the statist media and hollyweird wackos and comedians are completely aligned against Conservatives, of course, and it’s up to the blogosphere and talk radio to expose the gaffes - so many - of the left.

Sarah is sharp. She had already done 6 or 7 interviews when she had a slip of the tongue. She caught it and moved on.

Then she clarified it here on facebook.

The lazy petrified libs have nothing to run with on this.
